Was sent this by someone ā€œnegotiatingā€ with ChatGPT to try to push back on its output using my thesis.

Sadly AIs are trained to appease your opinion. You can try it out: disagree three times with an AI and it will end up softly agreeing with your resolution....

By being your friend they become trusted (Maximum engagement). The truth needs reasoning, which needs rationalism. But we live in a fake data world of empiricism.

It firmly disagreed with me many times about Jews moving to Ukraine

ChatGPT just copy-paste your book Jeff!

Hey Jeff, I’m curious if you listed to this yet?

Not yet.

I’d be curious to hear your thoughts, or even have an interview with him

Highly biased starus-quo, highly biased LLMs. Garbage in, garbage out.

I'm not even sure the AI is taking your arguments and carrying it to the next person. Is it?

I asked it this šŸ™‚

Can you explain Jeff Booth's book to me, "The Price of Tomorrow," like I'm 5 years old?

ChatGPT said:

Sure! Imagine you have a magic toy-making machine. Every day, it gets better and faster at making toys, so you get more toys for less money. That sounds awesome, right?

Jeff Booth’s book, The Price of Tomorrow, says that technology is like this magic machine—it keeps making things cheaper and easier to get. But here’s the problem: the people in charge (governments and banks) don’t like things getting cheaper. They want prices to go up so people keep buying more. So, they print more and more money to make everything seem expensive again.

But this can’t go on forever! Jeff Booth believes we should let technology make things cheaper and stop trying to fight it with more money. Otherwise, the whole system might break.

ThisIsAwesome!

I’ve used your thesis in ChatGPT as well. It actually confirmed your thesis in the way I queried it, with some assumptions of course. I would like to apply it to the real world and attempt to save what’s left of American manufacturing but the industry as a whole is completely fossilized and even the mention of Bitcoin is met with FUD immediately.

Very cool. This gives me hope for AI. I feel like AI models will be constantly challenged by informed individuals, leading to a scenario where only the most accurate and truthful AI will survive. Perhaps open-source models are likely to prevail, mirroring money technology where the winner takes most because the alternative options lack transparency and can’t be trusted.

ChatGPT officially orange pilled šŸ˜‚

I wonder if AI anticipates your bias based on your question, and delivers an answer that confirms your believe.

We can’t know. But I’d read that novel

Very clearly, yes. You can ask it for the best counter-argument to it's last strong point and it will deliver

Perfect, ChatGPT gets it

Jeff are you going to some bitcoin event in Denver tomorrow? Where is the event info? I'm coming.

I won’t be in Denver tomorrow.

I like to get LLMs to make the best possible argument for something. Then feed that back to them and ask for the best possible counter-argument. Then repeat that...

Eventually you learn that it's the base assumptions about the present and the future that actually underly the strongest of all arguments.

...at some point it makes you wonder if there's not actually a lot to the idea that we manifest our future out of our strongest beliefs and motivations. And I mean that in an entirely material and non-magical way.

I have talked with chatgpt about that problem. Technology and free market creating deflation. Making prices cheaper for consumers. And same time having inflationary monetary policy. Interesting conversations.

Seems like Chat agrees with you Jeff 😊
