People often reject the praising of motherhood at it is used as a round about way to prevent women from being full participants in the world. It's a shame to disrespect motherhood, but I get it.

The idea that women's highest purpose is to be mothers, and that that is the most appropriate activity for women, serves to hold woman back from full participation in the world. Women can, should, and for their own happiness, need, to be fully involved in the world. Indeed parenthood is one of the most beautiful things in the world and we should respect it, but not at the expense of women living full lives.

We need more involved fathers, more community, and more balance.

We need to allow every human do what they are best suited for, whether that means break the norms or follow them.

Then again some norms are needed - a man who identifies as a woman can't go compete with women in martial arts.

kinda, shouldn't that decision be up to the martial arts organization?

yes~!

it's imperative that women be more involved in the world—probably more so than men. we have it backwards in a sense. (and you'll probably hammer me for this lol) but men exist to be of service to women.

women, mothers, are the source of life. and men are to ensure this happens. this is a *supportive* role, by definition. this isn't a lesser role—it's valuable to women and children. it's wanted and needed.

but being the enabler does not mean he is or should be the dictator. nor does being the source of life mean that a woman should be limited to a single role—mother. her insight, expertise, and direction are desperately needed in the world.

Being of service to others is a part of having relationships. But it should be very mutual.

The term highest purpose isn't to denigrate other purposes, but to prioritize such that it can be assessed whether one purpose is at odds with another. This just means that if a society is oriented to make it overly burdensome for women to be mothers it is a distorted and mis-prioritized society. On an individual level you may have other goals and you should pursue them.

right. if we make it so women have to give up their whole lives to have kids, they won't. We have to make the logistics easier.
