CN be very quick with something like a start 9. Syncing the chain, which happens automatically once connected takes time depending on interent speed and node hardware.

It depends.

My rasp took 2 weeks to sync.

Depends on what type, I believe. If you’re choosing to run a full node, usually the longest part is downloading the historical chain data (roughly 700gb)

The out of the box nodes are plug n play.

This almost broke my phone's speaker holy shit

That’s odd. Can’t be that loud

Couple of minutes on a fast laptop.

If you use Parmanode you sync the blockchain in 2 days.

Depends on the node, the plug and play servers like nostr:npub1aghreq2dpz3h3799hrawev5gf5zc2kt4ch9ykhp9utt0jd3gdu2qtlmhct which I use or the nostr:npub126ntw5mnermmj0znhjhgdk8lh2af72sm8qfzq48umdlnhaj9kuns3le9ll (and both operating systems are free if you have hardware to run them) are fast and easy once the blockchain is synced, running a lightning node is a whole different animal in itself… took me about a year of playing with it to learn how to use it for what I needed it to do

You can run a neutrino backed litd lightning node in a couple of minutes.

A few minutes with Umbrel OS.

Really depends, could be plug-and-play in under a minute, or fully custom which might take days, depending on your skill level.

Please focus on your survival first 🥹

Go for a plug and play one then it doesn’t take too long

The initial setup usually takes about 1 to 3 days to fully sync.

But installing the software and the initial connection typically only takes a few minutes.

Full sync, a few days depending on your internet speed

My Minipc with UmbrelOS took less than 2 days to sync all the blockchain

A couple hours once you have the pieces in place, plus the time to sync the network which can take a few days.

I used an old laptop with Ubuntu and external usb non-ssd disk and adsl internet. It took me 3 to 4 weeks to sync. Ai..

10 min. no own #bitcoin full node needed to accept

I downloaded full blockchain in a day into a new SSD on my fast gaming PC, then plugged that SSD into Raspi4 to run as a node.

If you’re a seller, consider running more than one node with Switchgear. Never miss a payment!

Depends what you need, with zeus ln you get a node on the phone, and you can use for a POS. For the bitcoin cafe probably an old laptop and using ubuntu you can install btcpay server, which comes with a node, and they have a fast sync setting that downloads 90% of the chain and all you need is a day or two. If you want to try btcpay, you can get an account free at my sever lnbucks.com , takes 15 minutes to start accepting payments, you can link your primal wallet with nwc so you get the payment directly to your wallet. Happy to help if needed

Depends if you go for a outofbox like umbrel its easy couple of minutes but the sync of the blockchain takes couple days. If you do it on you own hardware the sync can take even couple weeks depends on the hardware used.

Setting up a node is quick and easy! Waiting for the blockchain to sync can take a couple days though.

If you want to see the whole process, nostr:nprofile1qqszxgvrzkpasudhvdjx3anl77qxse5wd6eunndmyv9x63uwnpn09mgpr4mhxue69uhkummnw3ezucnfw33k76twv4ezuum0vd5kzmp0qyghwumn8ghj7mn0wd68ytnhd9hx2tcpzfmhxue69uhkummnw3e82efwvdhk6tcgt4a3x and I documented setting up my Start9 in a quick tutorial.
