One of my biggest fears also.. I make multiple snapshots a day and have backups on a couple instances, not sure what else to do..

This is why the resource hosting websites need to charge sats. Free is fun, but it's unsustainable.
nostrimg.com, void.cat, imgur.com, imgbb.com, and plenty of others exist. Don't put all of your eggs in one basket.
If one were super serious, they would just make their own uploader, have full control.

Personally, I wouldn’t support any uploader that supports ads, (Imgur.com, imgbb.com) you are just contributing to the problem.
Go with nostr focused ad-free uploaders nostrimg.com or void.cat

Ads aren't a problem. It's understanding what you're getting for what you're paying for or not paying for. Plus, Imgur has a premium ad free service. Don't like ads, it's going to cost you. Plus, Amethyst uses Imgur for all of it's images and I've never one had an issue or seen an ad on my images here on Nostr.

Even Imgur’s premium I believe has some ads. Their entire site is littered with trash. I’m in the process of building a dedicated page for creators to automatically showcase their work and get paid for it, what is imagur doing for nostr??

Ads aren't a problem if they're implemented properly. You have advertisements on nostr.build 😉 I am one of your advertisements. Intrusive ads are the problem. That's where the issue lies.

All joking aside, probably the content you have on a decentralized platform is fundamentally more stable than it ever has been in the past, and there are few things more important than steak pics. Lol. Pura vida. 😎
