If your client doesn't support gift wrapped DMs, simply don't use it for DMs
Use 0xchat for DMs in such cases

BTW, #Amethyst seems to know when recipient supports gift wrapped DM? How?
I see a notification on Gossip desktop client, if the recipient does not have the chat relay configured.
Would be nice to have this on Amethyst, too.
It would be great if relay operators started keeping their NIP-11 info up-to-date so we had reliable way of determining which relays support which functionality.
