Morning nostr fam.

I’m curious, does anyone else have these on/in their ear? I’ve never quite understood what they were. It’s the small hole there. It’s on both sides, and my grandmother had them as well.

Preauricular pit or sinus, is a congenital condition present at birth. It occurs due to incomplete fusion of the six small tissue mounds (hillocks) that form the outer ear during embryonic development, specifically in the first trimester. These pits are usually located where the top of the ear attaches to the face and can appear on one or both sides.

I know people that have them but I don't. I looked it up once but I don't remember what it was.

Oh really? I’ve only met one other

preauricular pit or sinus

Yep, PP it seems.

I bet you know exactly what it is!

R S T L N E are already up on the board, and the clue is……..

“A race of beings that came to earth to build stuff and, thousands of years later, star in a hit tv series featuring a man with big hair”.

What’s your guess?

Lmao

That's where the antennas will go

I put paper clips in them once in school and feaked the teachers

i have a friend who has that. it seems to be hereditary? his mother has that as well i think.

Seems to be. My grandmother had them too

i do. on my left ear

Awesome! My tribe

🫂🫂 thought i was the only one before😂

I’ve got them on both sides tho

do them bother you? i have to disinfect and clean it from time to time because it itches

Not at all. Every other day though I do “squeeze” the area to remove some fluid. Nothing crazy or anything

same here. doctor warned me to be cautious of infection doing this

I’ve never had an issue

I believe I remember reading years ago that these were the remnants of gills from our ancient ancestors that originally had to breathe under water. Maybe it was bullshit, idk.

They’re like gills on a fish, they help you breathe under water.

I would tell people that sometimes heh

😂
