what are the farmers mad about?

In the USA 🇺🇸 you may have a hard time finding them as the top ones are funded by that sweeet sweeeeeet USDA money.

What do you mean by “funded by”?

Major crops and products are highly subsidized in the US (corn, soybean, wheat, cotton, and rice)

Only major producers are generally receiving subsidies at all.

Ok. Yeah I'm aware of subsidies but not sure of the scale or who gets what and why nor the rules around it. Watched a documentary a while back that talked about all of this but sort of forgot the details.

https://www.downsizinggovernment.org/agriculture/subsidies

This is from 2018, but it does address a number of issues that are usually ignored or obfuscated but pro ag articles/organizations.

The comment about the Reagan admin rolling back subsidies and the response rang home because I remember angry farmers in the town I lived in at the time.

Why Farmers are Protesting:

* EU Green Deal: Farmers are worried that the EU's push for environmental sustainability (limits on chemicals, greenhouse gas emissions) will hurt their production and incomes.

* Rising Costs: The costs of fuel, fertilizer, and other inputs have spiked, squeezing profits.

* Unfair Competition: Imports from outside the EU often undercut domestic prices, putting European farmers at a disadvantage.

* Bureaucracy: Farmers feel burdened by excessive regulations and paperwork.

From Google AI. Seems correct from what I've read elsewhere.

I have only kinda seen things in passing so I could be wrong, but I think the govt is trying to classify nitrogen fertilizer as some sort of pollutant so that they can tax the crap out of it or limit it's use & squeeze all of the farmers in some places out of business & force them to sell their land.

This is exactly what is happening, they are trying to push food production into the hands of Gates and others with their sludge food. The whole plan in europe is to destroy food supplies, inflate people’s lives to constant stress, energy shortages, geo engineering of weather patterns. A cascade of ‘crises’ all manmade to force people into capitulation to the ‘new normal’ …. DigID / CBDC Life.

Yeah, eco-regulations are 1) messing with the farmers inputs and 2) outright requiring farmers to stop farming (ie by selling their land or slaughtering their livestock)

1930s all over again

Taxes hopefully

Dunno, but I'm all for it. The enemy of my enemy is a friend. Spreading shit on government buildings is chefs kiss!

Governments around the world aiming to reduce their business and take land in the name of climate change/WEF agenda.

#wef #greatreset

Agenda 2030 and the crusade to reduce "reactive" nitrogen pollution.

There is no clear path to reduce wasted reactive nitrogen making it's way into water systems.

No viable alternative to the Haber-Bosch Process. (Which is itself under fire for energy consumption)

So policy makers are threatening massive taxes and regulations on primary supplies for agriculture production.

Which is a middle finger to the farmers themselves and the populations they feed.

Modern Lysenkoism in practice.

Is nitrogen pollution a serious problem there?

The best answer is "yes, but..."

There is significant nitrogen pollution in waterways adjacent to arable land that is farmed by modern agricultural methods.

We can see this directly by massive algae blooms and damaged fisheries.

The problems/solutions involved are complex, only partially understood, and made worse by politicians "just doing something" based on incomplete or outright manipulated data with wild projections and modeling.

They've been screwing farmers for years 😞

I never see farmers protest all the subsidies and protections against competition they enjoy in many countries.

In California I hear they get cheap water for almonds which require insane amounts of water to grow, while taxing residents at ever higher rates due to water shortages.

Sorry, I have a habit of replying to myself for some reason.

I can easily believe it. Government should stay out of farming entirely. I remember watching a video of Milton Friedman (1980s I think) talking about the US government subsidizing tabacco farmers while also funding all of it's own anti-tobacco campaigns. His point was that shit gets ridiculous fast when government subsidizes things. Farmers are kind of getting what they had coming by being so cozy with government in the first place. I'm speaking from a US perspective, but I imagine it's similar in even more socialist countries.

Unfortunately, we will all literally pay the price of whatever happens. Same old story.

That I dropped a bolt and can't find it in this long grass!

the EU was trying to mandate a reduction of production to like 30% of now

this would starve europe

the justification is gReEnHoUsE gAsEs

the farmers were not having it, literally their jobs being stolen from them

Hmm I can see why that might be upsetting. But the jobs argument is weak. If someone (another industry for example) is producing a pollutant and it was clearly harming the local environment, preserving those jobs for the sake of jobs is clearly not in the best interests of the whole. Not comparing to farmers and I don’t know enough about that situation.

haha yeah, literally cow burps and cow farts it's complete bullshit, i mean, they are calling cowshit pollution, can you imagine?

Not knowledgeable on the subject but I’d speculate there’s a difference in organic and synthetic nitrogen.

yeah, they aren't distinguishing between them, or counting what nature creates

anyhow, i don't think you are one of these people who understand that there is a dominant segment of the ruling class that believes in committing genocide on a regular basis "when the mob gets too noisy" who have been doing this for thousands of years to people, usually through war

now they orchestrate psychotic movements and industrial poisoning and corrupt the medical system so nobody even knows what's happening

Are they passing tax on fertilizer? Have you looked at the bill? You seem certain.

As for the rest of that - I don’t buy into conspiracy theories easily.

Corrupting of medicine is no conspiracy theory

people who ignore this shit are lucky they haven't got debilitating diseases and it makes me sick how they act so retarded about this

i know it means that the conditioning worked well on them, this is why i normally wasn't seeing karnage's establishment narrative bullshit at several points i blocked him and blocking again i don't need to interact with people who believe what the government and the ivory towers tell them

they didn't live through pain that could only be explained by something other than the official story

Easier to attack a person than discuss ideas.

Id ask which corruption you’re referring to but I honestly don’t care right now, sorry.

Sure, not wanting to start anything just pointing it out. Medicine is caught in a Big Pharma web.

No argument there 🤝

🤝

there was literally stuff written some time back that advocated lying to patients to persuade them to accept treatments

anyone who is healthy has no business trying to assert an opinion towards those who have experiences dealing with health problems that the doctors repeatedly don't help, that the food industry and government are continuing to allow to occur and even promoting

just remembering why i had blocked karnage before

fucking normie programmed atheist trust your government drone mind control victim

They want more state regulation and manipulated prices and less free market.

subsidies?

Yes, that's a different word for the same thing.

Btw I'm not so much against it or have any based opinion. I just find it funny that Bitcoiners support the farmers so strongly (which we should either way) while what they ask for is clearly against the radical free market ideas some people defend so strongly.

Same here. Also noticed as much. 🤔
