I think it’s beat, watched the video and completely impressed. But I am still figuring out how this fits into the ecosystem. With a client, I use my nsec and see my view of the world; with Ditto, I have to sign into somebody else’s website, to see their view of the world?
Perhaps the best way currently to bootstrap nostr in your local nostr community, too.

Isn’t it the same concept? Relays as communities? Each relay has a relay explorer which can be used as a community. You can make it public or private in struggling to see the real differences between relay tools and ditto
Similarly concept, but not quite the same. I went through a lot of details with Alex and MK, when I met them. I'm convinced that #ditto is next nevel. I do hope relay.tools will work well too. Ultimately (friendly) competition is a win for the end user.

I think one difference is that NIP-05 is required to post on ditto which I think could be problematic if a user is part of multiple communities. If we could add multiple NIP-05s to our profiles and easily switch between them or maybe clients could check to see if they have the required handle in their NIP-05 list.
Anyways that was once difference I noticed aside from the UI/ UX I’m struggling to see what is so different
Not 100% sure you need a NIP-05, because I saw it does @npub... otherwise, but I need to check that more. I dont have any issue with NIP-05 myself, it's historically been quite good and useful. However it did get changed recently.
What I like about ditto is that Alex has ideas on how to scale it, and bring things to nostr not seen before. He has also scaled other projects (to millions), so we know it's possible.
What I like about ditto is that it has caching strategies, strategies for fast content delivery, a highly polished UX. It has high interop and an architecture that I love. It is extensible and modular. With ambitious plans. A slight personal bias that I have, is that MK and Alex are both very likable, and bring alot of energy to the project too. I have trust in the team, so I am willing to throw some time at it, and have confidence, it wont be wasted effort.
Ditto also has great professional, documentation. It ticks all the boxes for me, that I've wanted for a long time.

I think I may have confused myself. It looks like ditto is a standalone client with the ability for users to run communities on top using soapbox?!? I guess I was comparing soapbox to relay tools.

Alex has built and delivered things to millions of users before, as have I. I see good design patterns in there. I may be wrong on that, but this is the first thing I've seen in the space that I think has a really good chance of scaling. If someone else does it first, so much the better.
Can it be configured to work with nsec.app? I like using that instead of browser extension for PK.
I get this pop up on ditto and my post are shaded out:
"The server was acting as a gateway or proxy and did not receive a timely response from the upstream server"
What's that all about? Plus need to add access using nsec.app like Nostrudel and Coracle do.
