I'm trying todecipher whether I should just jump in to running a lightening node now and learn or wait until Alby Hub hits Start9's market place.
You can already run in on Start9 https://guides.getalby.com/user-guide/v/alby-account-and-browser-extension/alby-hub/alby-hub-flavors/umbrel-start9-etc.
You won't need to balance the channels since they will only be used by you. The setup is designed so that you only need to open 1 or 2 channels when setting up your Alby Hub. After that, you won't need to open more channels for a long time, unless you need to upgrade your capacity. Check out this guide for screenshots and detailed instructions on what to expect. 😊👍

we have a lot of automation and defaults in regards to channels and liquidity. so getting started should be easy.
everything works as expected and as you know it. your lnurl/ln address just works.
Perfect will give it a go once it's on Start9's market place. Looking forward to giving it a go
