CBDCs could be great for privacy, if they used Chaumian eCash, i.e. the tech underlying cashu which means the 'mint' (central bank) doesn't know who it issued a given token to
I mention this because the anti-CBDC folks need to improve their arguments. If they obsess only about physical cash, they look backwards and irrelevant
I've had only one in-person discussion about CBDCs, with someone who was an extreme conspiracist. They believed that "15 minute cities" were a conspiracy to require everybody to stay with 15 minutes of their home, and that CBDCs would be the tracking mechanism to enforce this. This conspiracy is funded by climate deniers I guess
Anyway, how do we build a sane movement around freedom, that is also tech-savvy?
I tend to think most people do not want to engage in discussions and listen to any opposing views so the easiest answer to me is to focus on educating kids, and I am not joking. Social media really fucked up thr way adults communicate and I think there needs to be a major event that might make adults think if they should reconsider some of their beliefs. And btw I do not write off this 15 minute conspiracy theory, I dont give it 51% probability but it is not 0% either. You are right about CBDCs and ecash but I highly doubt they will choose that route

A european/uk CBDC increases European sovereignty.
Visa , tether, apple pay, google pay are worse than a European CBDC because they are USA CBDCs
Noticed Europe has an office alternative to windows office 365.

The only sovereignty that matters is the peoples sovereignty - Power of the people BY the people. The EU is a really bad example of that due to the unelected nature of the European commission and the lack of any genuine democratic power by its parliament. (a body that can only accept or reject proposals made by the commission) - Rubber stamping at best. CBDC's take away ALL of the peoples sovereignty by putting the money supply completely in the hands of the authorities. At least with Visa etc. the "money" is spread out amongst competing systems but once they bring in CBDC's there will be no need for competition. Add that to the Digital Identity System that they are bringing in which will have a Social Credit Score and Carbon Allowance/ration attached and you have all the makings of "The Mark of the Beast" which we have been warned about for thousands of years.
