A rather rare rainstorm in Cairo this morning. The city gets about two inches of rain per year.

Meanwhile it’s rainied on and off non stop in Washington state.

Amazing what nature can grow with just 2” of water a year

almost 3 inches where i am last night (i was catching water so yeah it got just a bit over 2")

the climate will change, with zero influence from humans

the provincial mindset of the idea that the world is as small as a little country (even a big one like egypt) is quite hilarious, i've always pointed out how much an appeal to this small mind the green agenda is

cairo was once a very lush, wet place about 5000 years ago, likely it will be wetted again

eliminating carbon certainly won't help because carbon is needed for plants to grow who make the water and heat slower to be lost

If you were present for that, odds are there could be success with the purchase of a lottery ticket also. 🤣

Desert rain is special rain!

Did you sing in it?

I imagine people go outside to enjoy it. Or is it a more practical effort to collect it?

Some people enjoy it. For other people it’s a hassle because things are often not ready for rain.

As a desert dweller, I can attest to the major mood boost a cloudy/rainy day delivers. Never fails, regardless of inconvenience. 🌧️

Like California freeway drivers for the first couple of rains each fall/winter.

enjoy!

rinsing off the smog

Is cosplay a thing in Egypt? I could really get into playing as a Mameluke

Lyn are you a sovereign individual? Or is that just a b.s fantasy?

It must be so refreshing getting a rainstorm there.
