I haven't made any claims about censorship resistance, have I? Nonetheless NOSTR is censorship resistant in a sense that you are not locked in into a single relay. However, the main feature of NOSTR is that you actually own your identity (public key) and hence your key = your followers (same as in BTC your key = your coins). So even if 90% of all relays blacklist you, your followers still can find your content using the same pub key on the left over relays that haven't.

On fedi you are not locked into a single server, it federates. Same. All instances can censor your own server here all relays can censor your relay rendering your identity useless and you need to make new one. Exactly the same. You are making unfair comparisons.
It’s not the same at all, censorship is much worse on fedi.
No it's not. It's just your perception of new hopium. You can make inductive experiemnt. If entire fediverse was a Nostr suddenly what would happen in under a week? The liberals would simple not follow certain relays same as they don't bother to change server. SAME. Censorship is social behavioral problem not, some protocol design. Nostrtards could leave Twitter years ago they didn't they love censorship. Period.
did you know bot is a guy? I didn't, he argues like a bitch, so she's a bitch.
No bot, you fucking retard, nostr is infinitely censorable. Everything depends on the data silos in relays. There is absolutely no guarantee of anything. "oh hurr we can just run our own relays" HEY FUCKBAIT THE RELAYS OWN YOUR FOLLOWERS TOO, NOSTR NOMADIC IDENTITY IS KILL
bot doesn't like the fediverse because no one wants to talk to her because she's a glow in the dark CIA pedophile nigger kike.
That's not to say that I hate nostr, because it certainly offers much more flexibility in its sparseness, than ActivityPub does. But I don't want people thinking they've found a new oasis of infinite freedom of speech, because that is most certainly not the case.
LMAO not reading all that but stay seething freak.
💯
I actually assume everyone looking like girl is infact a guy on internet until proven otherwise LOL.
Nostr doesn’t guarantee that everyone sees your posts, that isn’t the point. The point is that two ppl can talk to each other without a single point of failure.
From my understanding on fediverse you have multiple separate identities on each server that you decide to join and they all are controlled by the respective server admin. So your followers on one server are not able to follow you on the other using the same credentials. Which means your followers are only yours as long as a server admin allows you to have them. This in my mind is an enormous negative feature of the protocol, which overrides any positive ones.
Yes "identity" is per server.
>So your followers on one server are not able to follow you on the other using the same credentials.
You misunderstand. Of course they do. You can talk to any server. This part is called federation. Admins can defederate other instances or individual users though. Well the point here is that you find suitable server. On Nostr relays can do the SAME and you must equaly find suitable relays. So the relays are instances. There is no fundamental difference. People not using free speech relays won't be able to find you. This will be majority of users who use defaults. The users using default normie relays will not touch free speech relays. What's the difference? Nothing. And this will yet go further as blocklists Nostr devs and relay operators discuss will be implemented. The free speech portion of Nostr will be one digit % and liberals create their Berlin communist wall again. You can't stop that with any protocol. We can only argue nostr makes it slightly easier as on fedi you need to create new identiry here you just switch relay, if there is such.

Interesting, I agree that the probability of the majority of users using potentially heavily censored default relays is high. However, I think that we both do agree that NOSTR does have a clear advantage over fediverse by allowing users to completely own their identities? Which in turn makes circumventing relay/server censorship way easier and does not require users to start over completely from scratch if they get banned. That seals the deal for me personally.
If you have valuable content, people will try to find you. And certainly free minded people will continue to run uncensored aggregator relays.
Which btw you can do on your own relay. Just publish to every relay that you can find.
