Can someone help with why only 9 second videos wonβt download on either damus or primal? I have trimmed the vid in editor, but I wondered if I canβt reduce the size of the download other than that?

Thereβs a size limit on Damus. With a nostr.build account you can upload bigger files
Try dropping the video resolution.
1080p to 720p usually drops it by more than half, and is totally fine for instructional videos.
You can even go to 480p and halve it again.
9 seconds isnβt long so it could be the resolution size, where you able to upload it?
Yes, after I edited it by cropping hard.
Primal isnβt uploading my videos or pix for some reason. But I finally got it uploaded on damus after the hard crop.
I almost never use the app upload feature and just paste in the link from nostr.build.
Is it a big pain to get a nostr.build account (?), or link? I mean, I thought it was for developers and advanced users, not goobs like me.
Super easy but I use postimg.cc because it allows posting without re-encoding and without signup

Idk but that's about the same as the attachment limit size you can send in discord chats, kinda reasonable these days

I honestly think everyone should purchase a premium account if they get value from posting media content on here, if you give no value or get no value from your media content then it might not make sense for you.
I don't like the free/premium account model because it's designed to generate profit instead of providing resources at cost. I won't support it financially even though I appreciate the free service it provides
Still working on free video, trying to find the right balance.. I think we will make it time based, not size based.. Changes coming..

I have Nostr.build account and thereβs nothing weighty about it. Almost all of the images were created for folks to share for zapathons. β‘οΈπ
You can use Handbrake to compress it
I also figured out a weird video compression hack. Post the video on Xitter. You can use a burner account. Then download it using ssstwitter.com or a similar website. The file you get will usually be compressed enough to upload to nostr.build without sacrificing much quality. You can delete the original post afterward.
