They get immersive experiences of everyday life , travels, combined with art exercises to process emotions and trauma.
This approach has led to a 96% reduction in infractions and even the closure of some solitary units , rehabilitation uses of VR are being explored

What if this is where we all already are right now. That this is all a simulation to see if we can reform ourselves from the negative traits of our personality that caused our imprisonment in the first place?
If we succeed then we are let go. If we don't, we just keep starting our lives over again until we either get it right, or die trying. Safely away from the general population.
