If Theres a nostr for xmr it will get 1/1000th of the users as the bitcoin version
Lightning does not hide sender, receiver, and amounts (Last two don't even appear on chain at all and all by default). But even if it did, the tendency for nodes to centralize puts me off.

Any shitcoiner is free to build out their shitcoin dreams on Nostr but ⚡ Network will receive the vast majority of usage because it's already won the race.
I don't really care what the majority of people use. I don't interact with the majority. I interact with individuals and if those individuals produce value that I want to compensate them for I'll use xmr. If they dont accept it that's their loss.

Admittedly, #monero #xmr is not wildly popular because privacy isn’t wildly popular. But it’s not a popularity contest. If you want:
1. Default privacy
2. Decentralized
a. Over 11k nodes
b. CPU-mined
3. Fungible
4. Cheap to use (less than $0.01 tx fees)
5. Settlement w/in 2 minutes
…then use Monero. It’s untraceable digital cash, which some people don’t fancy.

Why would the network need to be fragmented just because some people would rather accept alternative currencies from bitcoin for v4v stuff. No reason nostr couldn't support both payment protocols. There is already a pay to relay option for xmr implemented and open sourced over at xmr.usenostr.org
