Have any nostriches astral-projected?

I'm just tickling the surface of this concept but I've heard enough accounts to be confident it's very real, and I want to continue exploring to learn how to do it

It's a deep topic... have you read anything by/about Robert Monroe?

Just started listening to the #Gateway tapes a few days ago

Very good 😃

Have you done them as well? Would love to hear your experience if so!

I had a couple unplanned OBEs when I was younger, did a lot of reading as a result, found the gateway tapes years later, did them partially, and recently have gone back to them

Keep us updated - let's get this #Gateway hashtag rolling!

Did the Wave 1 "Release and Recharge" tape last night... this process of taking old traumatic experiences and releasing the fear and other negative emotions associated with them then reintegrating the cleaned memories seems like a long ongoing process *and* it reminds me of ho'oponopono... are you familiar with it?

Much easier to smoke DMT?

There are lots of paths to get your brain to some crazy places, no doubt about that

Yeah, back in my psychedelic days.

I would describe it but I gotta head to the fiat mines now haha, maybe later.

👀 definitely fill me in when you have a min

It happened to me a few times, in different settings. I had already been doing psychedelics since 17, mainly acid.

My first AP: I was around 18 or 19, in my room, and I remember feeling really tired for some reason so I took a nap. As far as I can recall I was sober that day.

During this nap I had a seemingly insignificant dream but it was quite vivid. I was at a nephew or brother of a friend of mine, one of the two. Thing is, I didn't even know if he had a brother or nephew, nor did I know where he lived.

I told my friend about it and I described the interior of the house. He was stunned, because my description lined up exactly with how I said the place looks. He showed me a picture of the place some time later and yup, that's the place I was at in my dream.

Second AP is more straightforward, I was listening to some oldschool goa on acid in my room, in a meditative body position. At a peak in a certain track, (I had my eyes closed) I "ascended" for about 10 seconds with the viewpoint as if I was floating 20+- meters above my house. It was incredibly detailed.

Those days are way in the past for me, I have had a lot of other insanity in my youth such as dragons emerging from the ground but that's a story for another time haha.

You've had the dragons too? I had a re-occurring dream (or nightmare) as a kid which culminated in me slaying a holographic western style dragon and then being congratulated on my acheivement by supernatural beings (aliens/angels/I dunno 🤷🏻‍♂️) they told me the whole thing was a test and I passed, age 7.

Many years later shortly after meeting my wife, I was relaxing one morning on our ranch back then staring at the clear blue sky and I saw a black snake flying across the sky. I called for my wife to see if I was just going crazy but she saw it too! I can only think of it as an eastern style dragon 🤷🏻‍♂️ it comes up between us in conversation to this day and we still can't rationalise it 😅 it was like nothing I ever saw in the sky before.

Haha my dragons weren't in a dream but a hallucination in broad daylight during my first lsd trip. My childhood nightmares did often involve dinosaurs, and I definitely wasn't slaying them lol, I was too terrified.

Interesting story though, I think it's funny how you linked both those experiences up, they must have left quite a mark on you. When it appeared, did you think "looks like it's slayin' time" or..? 😂

Well, they're clearly both quite unconnected experiences, 😅 other than the impression of a dragon. Thats the only link.

Well it's a long story to explain the whole recurring dream series but once the dragon appeared I had already been through so much that it was clear there was only one way through. I didn't defeat the dragon first time around, it got me, but second time I materialised a sword and shield and after som struggle I stuck it with the sword to the chest. That dream definitely left an impression on me, among some others, my youth was full of very vivid dreams, unfortunately in my early life it conjured some kind of hero/messiah complex in me that I couldn't live up to 😅 thankfully life humbled me before I got too lost in those thoughts 😂

Thanks for sharing, man!

You were a lot more powerful in your dreams than me, that's for sure 😁

I have been in psychosis more than a few times in my life.. Does that count?

Ooh man... Listening to this old pod with my friend Brett still makes the hair stand up on the back of my neck.

Were you able to find a path to relief, I hope?

Yes. I was trying every method I could lay my hands on when I was a teen. Years later, this helped me do it:

- write your dreams daily right after waking up.

- Have a “totem” with you, like a wristband. Every time you see it, ask yourself “Am I dreaming?” It becomes a habit and once you find yourself asking this in the middle of a dream.

- Try flying. It’s an ultimate test that you are actually dreaming and helps you become conscious while dreaming.

Be weary of unearned wisdom, especially from hot blonde chicks who don't know shit

Yes

Yes. Once, through deep meditation. Never again. The first and only time I've done it magnified a gift. I met an Asian man who despised white people. At the time, I had felt his hatred but was confused where it came from. His sister told me he only liked his kind. If that's the kind of stuff to be received, I don't want it.

I trained myself for a couple years. Practiced several times a week very diligently. Here’s what I learned.

It’s cheaper for neurons to fire than to stay silent, calorically. So when you stay very still for a long time, they get tired and start to fire randomly. You can get this more easily in a sensory deprivation tank.

I would have many scary, strange experiences. As I relaxed, which was hard and took a long time to find all the random bits of tension, my heart would sometimes surge and I would get really excited. My body would vibrate. Then if I could manage to stay relaxed, the real fun would start. I might feel like I was floating or that I was a few feet away or that I was the size of the room. Sometimes I would hear voices in other languages.

Tense and release was the best way to relax. Practice in the morning after a good sleep. Wake up, wash your face, start relaxing the body.

I should write all this up somewhere.

Do it!! That's awesome man, would love to hear more

💯, content like this is fascinating. More please 🤙

Yes, but only spontaneously during sleep, i.e., lucid dreaming. Absolutely incredible. Search for Tom Campbell on YouTube; he has a lot to say on the topic.

I can also highly recommend the work of my lucid dreaming teacher: Charlie Morley.

He has written many valuable books, including this one ⬇️

A great entry point is lucid dreaming, which anyone can learn with some discipline and persistence.

Happy to connect on the topic!

Oooh yes please, would love to learn more! Followed 🌌
