The world is pretty crazy now. And that’s with inflation at just 20% in the West. What will it be like when inflation hits 50%, 80%, 150%?

That’s why I invest most of my time in building mental resiliency. I want my mind and body to be ready for a world where the crazy gets cranked up to eleven, combining the worst of the 1930s, 1940s, and the 1980s.

Oh wow … that’s pretty scary

To be forewarned - Is to be forearmed 🫡

Or stop watching and or reading the news.

Spending most of your time fortifying your ‘mental resiliency’ because of what’s happening or may happen thousands of miles away does not seem like a fruitful way to live a life, but by all means.

I really hope you were being hyperbolic.

Fair point! I want to get to a place where I feel fulfilled at peace, whether I read the news or not.

I hope things don’t get as crazy as I describe them, but I want to be prepared for a scenario where they do.

If shit goes sideways and the US empire falls, I'd bet good money Texas secededs from the union and goes into military dictatorship for a decade as they form their own republic.

Fulfilled *and* at peace

Swing kettlebells, cold showers, saunas, go to bed early, get up early.

Gotcha

Ice baths daily?

Where in west inflation is still at 20%?

How do you go about building mental resiliency? Besides obvious things like exposing oneself to new ideas, and accepting the possibility that things could go wrong (i.e. fighting normalcy bias).

I’ll be writing about that, long form. Nostr isn’t the right format.

we have longform posts

I recently started using habla for long form. Not very polished yet but it works, which is the main thing. I like it.

Stoicism lol

Or reading history and realizing nothing is new and people lived through whatever we are living through atm

And much worse tbh

If you really want to know go to 🇹🇷, 🇦🇷,🇱🇧today. In the 90s this happened in 🇧🇬, 🇷🇸.

Hanke keeps a hyperinflation index today, and has historical charts.
