TIL the drivechains proposal only uses a single byte to identify the sidechain.
That means Drivechains can only support 256 side chains. The solution? Sidechains will have their own sidechains. LOL.
I am not making this shit up.

The alternative solution? They just soft fork again. This is the whackiest shit I have ever seen a group of reckless assholes try to yeet onto main.
but drivechains are the last change to bitcoin!
“You can say with some real credibility, now that we have this change we don’t need to change bitcoin anymore”
- Paul Sztorc
The one thing Im certain of, is that shitcoiners are lazy. They would rather just agitate for another softfork to add a byte than wait on engineers to support sidechains on sidechains. It won't be the last change.
Yeah I'm sure there isn't some protocol breaking bug due in 2104. Yeah no more changes 🙄
> whackiest shit I have ever seen a group of reckless assholes try to yeet onto main
Followed.
This is classic Sztorc. Completely impractical. This is worse than his fraud proofs solution.
It's important to keep everything on the mainchain as small as possible. The alternative, to waste more bytes when there is only a handful of sidechains would be silly.
That being said, a utf-8 style varint would be a better solution.
Everything about Drivechains just seems to make Bitcoin worse lol
Why do I want miners to custody my coins?
Why do I want to move bitcoin off the main chain?
Doesn't make any sense.
I’m not technical but a few people said the btc you put on the side chain is locked for 3+ months 🤣
What a useless scam lol
Sidechains within sidechain within sidechains
