Also Lenses come in predetermined powers. Bought as a pair for a few bucks and cut out like keys from a blank. Sold for hundreds.

I'm about to have my buddy 3d scan my head lol. He's gonna print like a dozen frames. I'll get lenses put in 1 by the optometrist then I can swap them to any other frame as I see fit. Fuck the system.

And that's where the expensive part comes in. Since lenses are so complex eye glass stores refuse to work on frames that are not in their inventory since the machines are tuned to those specs. Or at least that's what I was told when I wanted to get my favorite sunglasses turned into prescription sunglasses 😢

recently went 'shopping' for frames on thingiverse and printables.. there are some! but.. i think its gonna be hard for my skill level to actually pull it off
