Not your #server, not your #NIP5
Your NIP-05 has an error message and looks like the poop. You're missing CORS headers.
Yeah I’m being irresponsible with my self-custody NIP5 and need to get my act together before I get rugged
RIP. Poor guy can't even setup CORS headers properly. 😟
the funny thing is about servers, every fucking server goes down at some point. what's your cluster services looking like, PH? we are going to make sure this does not happen again and do clustering in the future.
Or cache to a CDN.
CDN would have solved this 5 minute outage, but our JSON changes constantly and probably wouldn't work with the frequency of new registrations. We'd have to constantly be expiring cache or tell customers to wait an hour or whenever the cache expires to see their new ID. I'd rather use clustering.
As long as users don't change their name all the time.. a CDN could cache the requests fairly easily without having to expire frequently.. a new user would be a cache miss and then get populated on the fly from the origin.. but ya start easy then later decide. You'll need cloudflare anyway if you get too much attention in the future 😉

What was your outage over a few days ago?
Converting my ‘viewall’ page to thumbnails before displaying them, in a separate test directory but still, entered a variable wrong and melted the web server… CLI was fine, took me a bit to troubleshoot, but ultimately just needed a reboot…..

bah dammit. that is unrelated. whenever docker restarts that container always is boned. i need to look into exactly why. it has something to do with the script that #[4] has included. if i stop and start with the script it's all good again. it's just the automatic restarts that are boned. thank you!
