Was just looking into it yesterday, couldn’t come at a better time 💜
I just ordered Jade HW 2pcs instead of Ledger.
Second one is mining one, you know, you might win this lottery one day, random 80.000h/s… in cyberspace 😂
Was just looking into it, good for the price and features, someone was saying the build quality is not great?
They are doing something called a ‘virtual secure chip’, that takes part of the seed and encrypts it, and stores it in a remote ‘blind oracle’ (they provide the free service or you can use your own server). Supposedly the entire seed is not shared and it is encrypted. Everything is also open source..
Was thinking, even if I have to get on the network for the blind oracle sync, it doesn’t seem like true air-gap.. And if I use a local server not connected to the network, might as well just get a secure chip? Just a preference on how you hide your keys??
Curious of anyone’s thoughts..
They don't store part of the encrypted seed but half of the decryption key. The half decryption key is only sent to the Jade if the (hashed) pin matches on Blockstream's server.
That's my understanding, at least.
Just ordered one yesterday.
