You can ease your way into it. Blasting with cold is a thing people do but I just crank the handle until I feel good about the cold. Takes like 30 seconds for me to transition temps.
Idk if this follows the "shock factor" thing but I love to do it because it closes your pores

an interesting anecdote, In Sauna cultures like Finland they say not to end on cold.
