Sure, but neither is a substitute for the other. Ecash is custodial and Monero isn't. Ecash doesn't currently hide amounts from third parties either (the mint). Monero hides amounts from third parties even if you use someone elses node.
Ecash also suffers from a major catch 22 when it comes to public vs anonymous mints. (Advantageous the larger a mint grows increase anon set, but one is vulnerable to state control the other is more likely to be rugged with no consequence)
Even something relatively simple like silent payments would've solved this.

True. But they know it moved and can monitor it and potentially could know who moved it if they make any mistakes in the past, present, or future.

no, you cant move large amounts on LN at all. because you're constrained by the smallest channel over the route to the payee.
