Question to the community...

Does anyone know anything about ground egg shells helping with poor teeth/fighting cavities...etc?

I've always had soft teeth. Lots of cavities as a teen. My teens are going through this, and even my 6 year old is has under-developed teeth, poor enamel. I vaguely remember reading something about ground egg shells being beneficial somehow, but can't remember or find what is triggering that memory. It may have been for natural toothpaste or something, just not recalling specifics. Any help would be appreciated.

Do some research on vitamin K2 (mk7) and vitamin D3. They help make sure calcium stays out of your tissues and into your bones and teeth. I've also just found out that magnesium also plays a part and it's an essential electrolyte as well.

Yes, you need vitamin D3, vitamin K2, and magnesium for your body to properly use calcium.

Also, stay away from sodas. They are horrible for your teeth. If you must drink them, drink with a straw to keep the acid and sugar off of your teeth.

I think all processed sugars and carbs are basically poison atm. So totally agree, stay away from sugar water.

I’ve heard of this once before , a Swedish lady ground them and added to her muesli or porridge, if a chicken lacks grit or calcium it’ll eat its own eggs so what you’re saying makes sense , *chef not nutritionalist

I have been trying out this tooth brushing powder. One of the ingredients is ground bone so eggshells might offer something similar. I've been thinking about adding this powder to my homemade toothpaste recipe which is equal parts coconut oil and baking soda plus some olive oil (to create a more paste-like consistency) and some peppermint oil. I currently find it annoying to apply the powder to the brush seems to spill everywhere. I'm probably just doing it wrong though...

Thank you. I found some things on restoring enamel with powdered egg shells. Adding to a home-made toothpaste may be a good plan. Thank you.

Also consider looking into fluoride mouthwash to strengthen enamel. My dentist says it helps my teeth.

I need to do more research on Fluoride. I've heard mixed things, both good and bad. I believe it's already in the toothpaste we use, but adding is not something I thought to do. Thanks.

fluoride might be good for your teeth, but it is also a neurotoxin, so you don't want to ingest it. It is hard to put on your teeth and not swallow any.

I've heard that theobromine can do the same thing as fluoride without the side effects, but even theobromine isn't really supposed to be ingested.

Agreed. Fluoride can have all sorts of impacts if ingested. I use a mouthwash like Act, and don't ingest it.

I always thought it was odd that the excuse for fluoride in the drinking water was for teeth health. Fluoride needs to be applied to the enamel to be effective. Drinking it doesn't strengthen teeth. Even at the dentist they have you spit out the fluoride paste. It's analogous to drinking a bottle of spf 50 and explaining that it will help prevent sunburns... 🤣

i don't know anything i'll ask my community and let you know.
