And Signal uses like 2 GB RAM

You need beeper.com in your life

Sounds like I've heard this before

lol nah, it actually works quite well. Let me know if you need an invite code 🤙

So beeper can read all your e2e messages?

If you have several, I would take two as well. Showed it to a friend of mine who could definitely use this kind of app 😁

No worries sent a DM

True ! Really efficient. If someone wants an invite don't hesitate to DM me.

I delete WhatsApp and everything is better😸

0xChat + Ecash is the next step in development and will change the game

You forgot your nostr client

SimpleX?

On desktop I use Beeper to manage most of them

each of them has own specialty groups - nonone change others habits

A universal nuisance. No idea if it could be fixed.

telegram is a honeypot...

You forgot SimpleX ⚡😅

I use simplex and I want to like it but it sucks so hard.

🎯

On which part ?

reliability, notifications, desktop app, backups, restoral, sync across devices.... it feels like it's very early.

Yes it's clearly early, I use it every day without any issue but maybe with less fonctionnalities than you. Did you try Sessions ?

I'm trying to *reduce* the number of messengers, not increase it xD

I have the same issue, so many more apps than Friends to talk with these apps 😅

Clearly network effect is relevant with regards to messaging apps. Nevertheless, if you're in the position of changing you'r connection platforms, you can have a go with Mumble (instead of Discord) and XMPP (prosody highly suggested) instead of Matrix (that is heavy as hell). You could manage most of the others with bridges from XMPP, but at the end of the day all comes to how much time you'r willing to commi for the setup of all these stuff and backup management.

Minimalism.

don't forget keet.io

True, I just want one public thing and one private thing

How about Brair?
