Edward nostr:npub1sn0wdenkukak0d9dfczzeacvhkrgz92ak56egt7vdgzn8pv2wfqqhrjdv9 gave us all a stern warning, and despite the standing ovation, I don’t think most people understood or cared.

Snowden agrees that Bitcoin is the best tool we have to fight the surveillance state, but "Bitcoin has a privacy problem".

The reason we see talks of ETFs and acceptance from the SEC is BECAUSE Bitcoin is not private.

Snowden says it’s not enough for a few to know best privacy practices. Those who have good OPSEC should use that skill to provide privacy to the masses.

Privacy must be the default.

Notice he doesn’t say we should switch to Monero. Monero is a shitcoin. He says the technology to make decentralized, private payments with Bitcoin exists RIGHT NOW, and the minority of us who truly care about freedom need to pay attention to the discourse and stop asking for permission.

In other words, we have to stop accepting "Bitcoin shouldn’t do that because it might cause legal issues".

Separate money from the fucking state https://v.nostr.build/yw85.mov

Indeed 👏

Agreed! But until we add proper privacy to Bitcoin, Monero and MWEB Litecoin are the best tools with the greatest amount of liquidity 🤷🏻‍♂️

name one darknet market that takes litecoin MWEB as payment.

love to see it, reminds me of a similar conversation we had on the same stage last year

FATF is UN WEF

Philosophically, you won that debate hands down. But for the people who only care about NGU or cashing in their BTC for CBDC tokens, I think they like that Bitcoin is safe, legal, and surveilled.

For this reason, I would be very happy if you make this happen 🙏🏻

Of course he's not going to say switch to Monero. It's a Bitcoin conference and a Bitcoin audience lol.

Outside of this he's made it clear that his preference is for Monero, and even Zcash, unfortunately.

"it’s not enough for a few to know best privacy practices" is a dig at the state of Bitcoin privacy. Because then only a fraction of users will ever use it privately. And even calling coinjoins "private" is dubious because nothing is hidden. It is weaker obfuscation. Amounts and transaction graph are still completely visible.

Like you said: "Privacy must be the default." Bitcoin is definitely not that and can never be without hardforking. And we both know that is never happening.

Then we should get off LND

“…the minority of us who truly care about freedom…”. Damn. And then I remember how Snowden’s freedom lasts only as long as he remains useful for the propaganda purposes of the world’s most violent dictator. Snowden isn’t free. He’s a puppet.

You probably think Assange deserves what is happening to him too? the USG is no better than RF in any measurable way whatsoever. you fucking statist cuck.

You’re a good Putin Puppet too.
