One thing that gets me on lost platforms is that off grid has become mostly glamour and not based in reality. Most of us scrape by and use what we have of can find for free or second hand to make this lifestyle work. Most of us did not sell our million dollar house in California and immediately by up an established homestead to be trendy. I think most of us are doing this to try break free form the system that controls our every move. Most of us claw and scratch our way to make this work. Some make it and some do not. You need the right mindset to live like our ancestors did off the land. Heck even my grandparents had victory gardens and canned most of their food. We need to get back to that!

this right here.
there is a significant difference between offgrid infloooencers and breaking system dependency, producing for yourself
There's only one thing worse than Off Grid poseurs and that's the Van Life influencers with the pristine van interiors and unused oven tops. 😁
Agreed. I’m still mining fiat to fund a Bitcoin stack. With the limited time I do have, my family has small gardens and chickens etc. we’re homesteading on the side with the hope to become independent. Not in it for the aesthetic but rather the utility it provides. It’s hard work, but it’s necessary.
I think unless you have acres of field and enough room for livestock you’re doomed to be some part of the system. I don’t have that so I try to buy from other local farmers instead of the supermarket
