This Twitter friend says he was put through full KYC, including an embarrassing session on webcam, in order to get his account back. He doesn't understand why it happened, it all seems arbitrary.
Please I don't want this to happen to me. What can I do??
You post on Twitter stating that you're moving to #NostrOnly beginning September 1st. Over the next couple of weeks you give a few reminders. On September 1st you nuke your Twitter account. Twitter can no longer attempt to control your social data or KYC you. You may move this timeline up if you'd like.

I'd been thinking about it for ages but in a moment of disgust at both the content of my feed, and myself for still being on there, I though sod this and immediately went and hit the nuke button!
It's not like many people care much what I have to say anyway, and I'm not someone who cares about follower counts. Just glad to have separated myself from that shit show!

I don't hate Twitter unlike most people here but if this happened to me, I'd just quit it entirely. Not going to KYC myself just to use a social network.
This will increasingly become the norm on Twitter. The only way to ensure it doesn’t happen is to leave Twitter.
The uk government is driving a fresh wave of non kyc social media users into the arms of Nostr.
Nostr should try and capitalise on this somehow
