My favorite page on the StLouisFed .org (FRED) site:

"Buying eggs with bitcoins."

Since they started keeping track in January 2015 through August 2024, the price of a dozen eggs:

- In US dollars: Up +51.7%, from $2.11 to $3.20.

- In #bitcoin: Down -99.4%, from 925,406 sats to 5,348 sats.

CONCLUSION: Life gets ever more expensive the longer you save in dollars (or any government fiat currency), while it generally gets (much) cheaper the longer you save in #bitcoin.

Inflationary fiat currency versus neutral inelastic energy money...

The choice is yours.

I find this painful to look at as I’ve burned so many sat stacks buying eggs of the last couple years.

Too bad! I hope they tasted eggstra special 🍳

U answered the age old ? what came first the eggs or the chickens? t-y D.JR!

they need a log scale

Great point. It’s the fed; They won’t because then you can’t see the continuous change.

The linear scale will hide the continued dollar devaluation.

#BTC #HODL #bitcoinstr

And we still have lots of people out there thinking money needs to lose value to work 🤦🏻‍♀️

Yay! The total zaps I received on nostr can already buy me eggs! 🍳

Normies will say it's not as simple as that, but it actually is!

Do you have a calendar reminder to post about “the egg chart” haha in all seriousness, love your work. Thank you! 🙏🏻

That's a fav of mine too. I remember well posting back when everyone was complaining about $18 a dozen eggs, that Bitcoiners were getting them literally almost for free. Maybe we should price in BTC/eggs vs BTC/USD???

Y’all got any more of them $3 eggs?
