- They can block purchases
- Automated taxes
- Without cash, you will be 100% dependent on the ECB

Small correction there... EU already have automated taxes in most countries.
Each country have their own tax system.
I can speak only for myself as an employee.
My taxes are withheld automatically by the employer and send to the tax authorities every month.
Once a year I get a tax report by mail with all the details and if there's a mismatch I can always gile a complain to sort things out.
2025 is when they must "decide". But we all know that it's BS.
Imagine they don't decide yes by then but a year later everyone else has a CBDC. You think they will stick to their guns?
