They're trying to hijack Bitcoin. Also they are probably trying to plants seeds in people's minds because someday they will actually try to change the software to have more then 21 million Bitcoin.

If people stop running nodes, the 21 million cap becomes irrelevant because the only ones that will enforce that are the miners, and miners are not always aligned on what is best for Bitcoin. That’s why the sats vs bits debate is dumb and only serves as distraction to the much more important debate: the OP_RETURN one.
you may be right. I don't even know what the op return debate is but it doesn't sound like there is a pysop to hijack Bitcoin. Just like in the past how Bitcoin cash tired to hijack Bitcoin.

BIP177 is designed to confuse the market. It only introduces instability and breaks price history memory. Anyone that is in favor of this is not to be trusted.

And then BIP 176, what's the reasoning that bit is 1/1000000 of a bitcoin? Like 1 byte has 8 bits, not a million. Bit is a binary 0/1 container.
