Eh. 35K active? Not a lot. He's not wrong though in his statement. However, that's not the point. The point is the extreme potential for Nostr to better our future. Just like Bitcoin, very few used it in the beginning. People like him saw the potential. Though maybe now I'm thinking it wasn't about seeing the potential, it was about luck and being at the right place at the right time for him?
All innovative tech had very few people using it when it began. The internet comes to mind.

I vividly remember, long ago, when a friend showed me facebook for the first time.... I thought the site looked like shit. I didn't know anyone on it. All my friends were on myspace at the time. Why would I go to Facebook?
That was my Freshman year of highschool. By my senior year, everyone was on Facebook.
I remember a time in college when an obscure classmate told me about this cool digital money that I could send to anyone in the world. He even offered to send me one so I could understand what he meant. I thought that was ridiculous. I could just go to an ATM and give that cash to anyone... There was no zelle, no cash app, PayPal was basically a bank account and that's it. I quite literally could not understand what "instant payment meant" That was 2011...
Point is, the masses seldom feel like the next big thing is worth paying attention to until they find themselves surrounded by it and feeling foolish for not seeing its true worth early on.
It was my loss then. I won't make that mistake again.

Yea Dan Held will probably be late on Nostr because NPCs stay in line so they dont get censored. They are also good at engagement on centrally controlled platforms with nonsense content. Last I heard of him was him last cycle pushing Super Cycle!

Everyone joins nostr precisely when they are supposed to.
We're still early. Most have yet to realize the swell that's coming. But once the flywheel for open, interoperable identity and web of trust starts spinning, it spins fast.
And that's to say nothing of what happens once we get AI agents with nostr keys taking off as well.
