Definitely the best option for someone who isn't up for running a full node and wants the backend abstracted.

Blixt is a good option for someone who is in the middle and wants something closer to a full node with control over channels etc.

Mutiny is gonna be fire 🔥

Thanks! I can’t watch it now but bookmarked it for later.

This part at the end in the advanced section explains how recovery works if the Phoenix (node ever permanently goes offline.

Thank you! I’ll check it out 🤙

Haven't used it for a while, but iirc, it requires a minimum amount for first transaction in irder to open a channel.

Yes this is true, min 10k sats incoming first tx (so about $3-4). It's instantly accessible at that point.

I typically describe it to the person as the cost to establish a connection, at which point they enjoy the low fees for sending/receiving.

In my experience they take that at face value and it doesn't phase them at all. Plus the speed of the incoming tx gets them quite excited.

Im glad to see this I just used it to escape muun....

Me too, 😅

Phoenix is a great wallet

I like Phoenix too.

I like Phoenix. I made my first transaction to it about 1.8m sats so I had a nice large channel and I've never needed to open another. I refill it with my fiat balance on Strike.

phoenix have been the best from the start

I try the app after your tutorial and it charge me 3 times to open the channels.

Phoenix is great! Fast and reliable!

There is a catch though. iOS and Android are not compatible. Meaning if you had an Android Phoenix 12 words but you need to switch to iOS, it would NOT work. Please take note.

I'm happy with Phoenix 🧡⚡💜

Does it not provide a Lightning Address?

This is pretty desirable for a newbie and easy to explain.

One of the best wallets out there, been using it for years, can wholeheartedly recommend.

Acinq is doing amazing work.

Thanks for sharing!

Great tutorial! 🤜⚡️🤛

X2

I really like it and I use it since February 👍

👍

No static wallet address is a pain. I wish there was a solution like a custodial wallet, with a minimum and maximum limit that would automatically transfer to and from Phoenix

It's not custodial. You have to trust they won't give you a bad lightning channel backup and steal your btc. On a long enough time horizon acinq will get compromised by govt etc and rug users. You should do better as an "influencer" and "educator" and warn new users of this risk.
