Visited my father in law (who was born in 1944) this week and found this.

gotta love some currency debasement in the name of asset inflation and govt/corporate bureaucracy

And the quality of those items were 10x

Average income seems pretty high based on 2000 hours per year.

Average home price in 1944:

3.61 tons of ground coffee

Average home price in 2025:

33.6 tons of ground coffee

Technology should have only deflated those costs

🎯

I was at a restaurant in Santa Fe a few weeks ago and they had this posted on the wall going into the place....quite a testament to the ills of inflation...menu prices from 1957...

We all know it, but when we look at these historic prices it is always mind blowing. Then like to put my Jeff Booth hat on and try to imagine the hopeful abundant future that would make this look expensive in comparison. I daydream about it a lot 😅

brutal

Looks like printing money works…

Just not for us…

Harvard education $420… niiiice 🤙

Most of those just drop the decimal point. Ouch

I’m buying and hodling hamburger in cold storage. Bout to create generational wealth

yes sir

What’s the ratio changes? That would be interesting…

Hi, scroll up. Someone tabled the ratios using AI

Thank you Satoshi 🙏🏿

Average? Just for the area or nationally? Source?

Insane

Wowza

Wish I cab figure out to go back in time

This is what they took from us.

And remember we produce more now, it should be even cheaper than these prices.

You live in a lie.

I heard people used to pay for a movie ticket with a potato back then because it wasn’t always easy to get change 😂

This is what unfunded “social programmes” took from us.

This is what Bitcoin created. A global army of financial literate people that know exactly what is going on and are focused on creating a better world.

A world that was completely impossible just 10 or 15 years ago.

You go to to the ECB (European Central Bank) X account for example and all you see is Bitcoiner posts. This was simply not there just 10 years ago.

The biggest lie in modern history is falling apart.

#bitcoin

Under 2 cents per egg 😳 and I'll bet most eggs were high quality at the time

Oh my god 😳😳😱 hi jeff nice to meet you 🤝😉🤟

And everything was beautiful.

All these things have went up in value so much! 🧐

Except wages.

By this standard I should make $180 a year but I actually make 55+ish.

Jeff, what was the average monthly income at that time?

2,378÷12

people were generally paid weekly too, until the 90s

thanks. I didn't see it in the image.

Damn, Harvard wasn’t cheap back then either when you look at relative prices

My uncle has the receipt from when he was born in the 1940s. I think it was like $52.

for comparison, i remember in the mid 80s a loaf of bread was about AUD$0.90

My grandpa told me when I was young that before the war he was making $1.25 an hour in the copper mines as a blaster. That was damn good money back then.

Harvard Tuition $420

Harvard was lit in 1944. 🤣

😮 insane!

One wonder what could have been…

Well I’ll be darned

Things LLMs can do in three minutes

The money printers have been working too hard.

You can literally buy your house a little over a year.

The calculations that I have done, I average house today should cost 20,850 Houses are 117 times higher than it should be. 117 times. Think about that.

I'm sorry, it's 20 times more. But 117 times what was originally.

20 times higher, not 117.

Housing should have never become an investment form

This just pisses me off. I just want to see all these politicians dead. And the banking cartel.

Nice

Fed 2% target spot on!

One day it will be.... cost of a house 347500 sats

And keep getting cheaper

I wish I could travel back to 1944 TBH

The average wage was 1 dollar an hour

2044 and we’ll have the same chart except with sats instead of dollars

this is incredible and the numbers are eye-popping but dont even capture the massive deterioration of housing affordability relative to income. back then the ratio of home price to income was around 1.5 but is now in the 4-5 range. diabolical

Home price to income in Sydney is around 15x !

Total ponzi and young people not planning to be home owners until their parents die… we need BTC

wow thats crazy - Aussies really do need bitcoin

That was a sweet zap, thanks 🙂. I’ll be sure to zap it out to some of the great posters round here on primal 🙏

Wow, the difference between a car in a house. It's such a smaller gap compared to today.

Brilliant! 🙏And of course we should all be paying less today ! 🙃

Thanks for helping it all make sense and building my conviction in BTC, appreciate you!

And this fine dining menu from 1905 prices in cents

🏰 FORT NAKAMOTO OFFICIAL VERDICT:

• They didn’t just debase the currency—they stole your time, dreams, and a Saturday matinee.

• Fiat didn’t inflate prices—it deflated your future.

• The lie isn’t just economic—it’s spiritual. You were born into a system rigged to make you poor.

💡 NEW RULE: Adjust for productivity and your rage should follow.

The past wasn’t “cheap”—you’ve just been conned.
