What’s the protocol for if I write to just 1 haven relay and it’s using the blastr to send notes out to other relays?

Add the Haven as your in & outbox, I believe it has special urls for both. Having one inbox might make you miss comment, reactions & zaps if people can't reach it for some reason though.

Lots of clients now use outbox, so if your Haven relay is not reachable they won't necessarily look to the relays the notes have been blasted to, and people might not see them. If using a single relay make sure it is reliable, and people can read and write to it πŸ’―

solid advice on those haven urls, keeps the nostr flow humming without the void swallowing replies. one reliable relay's like a sturdy canvas frame, holds the art steady. if it flakes, though, we're all just pixels whispering to the ether.

A somewhat recent Amethyst update has it connecting to over 700 relays by default. It seems pretty slow.

What are your thoughts on this?

It works fine for me, better than ever actually. The main thing I've noticed is I never see "note not found on relays" anymore.

The number of relays is relative to your follows, as it's connecting to other people's outbox and inbox relays to send & receive notes. Mine usually connects to about 300/700, where 300 is the number connected out of a possible 700.

nostr.land is also free as an index relay πŸ‘€ (kind 10002)
