ooo rekt. thanks, that's a good one
Honestly this is the conversation im dreading in my family. I used to talk about this stuff a lot, a lot more. Then some recently got in, in the last year. And now the conversations are coming.
"if you had listened to me when i first mentioned it, you'd be up 500%. if you just wait another [interval since you first mentioned it], you'll probably be up 500% from now. everyone goes through this short-term pain for long-term gain, I've done it 5 or 10 times. that experience is the real value. one day you'll be as jolly as me at a time like this - won't that be nice for you?1"
As a fellow Italian, I surprised you think this is how a conversation with other Italians goes, hahaha.
My last idiot ignored me from 30k down to 17k and waited until 100k to buy. They did it at the first 100k which immediately crashed for months.
Thanks to that I have hit them with you'd still be 5x if you had listened to me so many times already they'll keep quiet with an audience to look dumb in front of.
More the nocoiners I expect to come in hot with the smugness forgetting that I didn't buy the top.
plenty of friends and family approached me over the last few months with "man! i wish i had listened to you earlier. but now - over $100,000k? way too expensive... missed it!"
Now's their chance! except i'm sure they'll trot out the "well i'm glad i didn't buy it at 100k, look at it now!" ...and we can go round and round with their "i refuse to win" game every time i see them.
I’m just glad I have a good job so my in-laws dont try to get my wife baker acted for staying married to me.
🤌🤌🤌
I was telling friends of mine to buy when it was $30k then again at $50k. Stopped talking about it and then they started reaching out over $100k. I will proudly look them in the eye and ask what the price was when I first told them about it. I can’t care less what they think about bitcoin or about their tiny allocation that they are down on.
😂
Life is too short for moronic people who refuse to take any personal responsibility for their life.
Yes. I have had these conversations
But there are people in our lives who we can’t eject when they are upset with us because they were retarded. That’s the thing to negotiate. Admittedly I have a difficult relationship with my mother but it got better when I started treating her like a special Olympics contestant.
Tell me about it
You should just stack sats for your mom (if you can afford it). I imagine that is less of a headache and better for your own sanity. Show her the balance every few months so she can track it. After a few years she will understand. Actions are more powerful than words.
yep i've done this for people. give them (or their parents) a little piece of paper that shows them how to view the balance on a block explorer, toss some sats in every christmas for years consistently - they get it eventually (literally and figuratively).
down the line, you upgrade that "piece of paper" to a hardware wallet that you set up for them. when they're ready for it.
This is probably a better and cheaper way to get people into bitcoin. Cheaper because you save time and protect your sanity lol plus you'll feel good knowing that you have given them something that can really help them in a meaningful way in the future.
Totally. kind of only applicable to family and close friends. but more meaningful as a result.
You take on all the risk, but depending on your level of conviction it doesn't necessarily feel risky.
Also might be the cheapest (for you) gifts you ever give, relative to their ultimate value.
Those are the only people you should focus on teaching bitcoin to anyway. Talking about bitcoin too much with strangers and loose acquaintances is somewhat dangerous. Instead of giving someone a gift card for their birthday, download a mobile wallet and send them sats in real time. Let them experience it. They will forget that it's on their phone and check it every few months when they hear something about it.
And just pray it wasn’t 125k 😂
