We can't fix all the broken things Nostr is trying to fix while at the same time being afraid of offending some misguided prejudices of so-called "normies" (who are never actually called into the debate themselves, by the way -- and of course they can't be, since at the time they get to the point where they can have an opinion they're by definition not "normies" anymore).
Discussion
Nostr needs bold, unrelenting toxic maximalist disruption.
I wonder if this will track to NgU. The richer that insufferable people become, the less constrained they’ll be in their speech.
Fuqdemnormies!
Thank you for your attention to this matter. FTJ President of Nostr
This is true
Aye! 🔥
Nostr, the network for toxic maximalists (of any subject).
Demasiado hemos hecho y hacemos
I can build tools my family and niche communities want to use tho.
The "free" web etc... might or might not be a byproduct of that.
amen
Aka ‘the normie paradox’
Very true.
I would even go as wide and see it as a bad behaviour to talk bad about people who do not participate in a conversation. I would be happy more people have the curage to openly critique people directly. In a best case directly coming up with better ideas instead on only pointing out the wrong.
But most importantly, communicate to the person of question.
"not in my touchscreen" phenomena
there's a lot of spooks in the minds of many of the most engaged with nostr users as well, that are interfering with problems actually being solved
DMs are still broken because you all silly persons think that somehow you can get away from the relay as trusted third party without throwing out the whole protocol architecture. spoiler alert: just because some relay operators are going to be glowies doesn't mean they all are and failing to implement adequate implementations that actually work is interfering with the people who are attempting to create adequate customer service for their subscribers.
so it's not even just normies whose caved in heads are a problem, there's more than a few wojacks building nostr software too, especially clients
we'll route around the braindamage though, anyway.
we don’t need more normies. we need more ride or dies. all the great nations were built by a very small fraction of the general population. the rest are just sort of along for the ride
I saw we ship!
Stepping outside of Mediocristan by definition pretty much means that one is no longer a 'normie'.
