Not a trump fan - Iām a bitcoiners with popcorn.
But the best argument Iāve heard for tariffs is to FORCE the IS economy into contraction, eventually forcing the fed to lower rates. Lower prices and rates then paved the way for a combo of deregulation and lower taxes to make manufacturing here in the US very attractive. And people will be desperate to work.
Overseas, due to reserve status / Cantillon effect, they feel the tariffs harder and are, in some but not all situations, forced to spend more dollars.(but wouldnāt they just sell treasuries??)
Supposedly attempting to roll back the Triffin Dilemma.
Whatever. Itās all good for the corn. There may be an initial dip, but itās going to rip afterward. In fiat terms and adoption.
Yep. Thereās a nugget of an idea there, but itās missing something to help galvanize organization.
The military tried it.
You should totally try it. Iām sure itāll be fine. Itās only 300,000 years of trial and error - thereās room for improvement.
Ordering online is easy and convenient⦠until you realize how risky it all is, either for you or the merchant. The only guaranty of profit is to the money middlemen.
Buy things online in bitcoin or lightning. Immediately, you can feel the trust involved. You can feel the lack of options if the other side screws you.
It seems to me that in a bitcoin standard, online shopping will be much more scarce and reputation-based.
People will prefer shopping in-person. Brick and mortars will be preferred for common goods. You may even get to know the patron/customers.
Local economies will be stronger. Global economies weaken as imports/exports slow way down.
People are forced into caring more about their local environment - its people, its merchants, its crime, its poverty, its health, its overall attractiveness to outsiders so that it can grow. If it gets too big, at some point it naturally partitions and neighborhoods form.
Money without middlemen would unwind most of the last 80-100 years of commerce.
A proper hero. I learned so much from that man, and Iām thankful for that.
āA fever dream of circular thinkingā¦ā - Ebert
āWait, something about this is very familiarā¦ā - Biff Tannen
āEveryone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul. ā - Principal Anderson
I get that. And one part of me likes it.
The other part thinks, āno, my posts are my data. I should be able to revoke access to my data at will.ā
This gets into whether notes are a matter of āpublic recordā or freely shared data.
If itās on the internet, it can be repeated, copied, screenshotted - a million ways to reproduce. But to prove whether or not you wrote something - should that belong to you or everyone?
It feels very much like using nostr is then submitting to the whims of the crowd and whatever groupthink du jour is occurring.
This is a terrifying thought, and Iām not a scammer. This creates a security risk and incentivizes wiser people to not contribute on nostr - as they lose control - without extreme measures of anonymity being taken. Nakmoto levels.
Is this the way we want to create community? With fear? There is the idea of merit - which again, a part of me loves. But the finality of the access to a note takes it to an extreme.
Iām pretty conflicted.
Fourth Turning on display.
I will not be surprised if Appalachia leads it in the US.
Politicians pissed off the wrong people.

According to nostr, itās not the plane crashing that you should kill the RF - itās the milliwatts of energy mutating you into the toxic avenger in real-time.
The only way to protect yourself is to go full Luddite.
So it goes.
They just signed an executive incentive to seize your coin.
That the economy is worse off than the pumpers, media, and power mongers would have you believe.
Gold went down in the first few months during the crash of ā08. Once people realized that there was no other option than gold (not even bonds), it ripped into new highs and stayed there.
I suspect this will happen again, with bitcoin to follow suit. We will all buy the dip, shitcoiners will rotate in, and that will create a resiliency that most of the markets wonāt have. And that will attract the real money.
If there is no crash, then that means stimulus of various kinds are abound. And bitcoin is hard-coded to take advantage of this.
I am increasingly in favor of the concept of citadels. Your coin is your passport.
Owning corn will increasingly be an analogue to measure your rejection of fiat thinking.
Weāll go where weāre treated best, and thatās eventually only going to be with hodlers. Weāll have various opinions, beliefs, vices and virtues - but we will all agree on the benefits of sound money. That will be the bedrock. nostr:note1y7ygz4g7gf9az8me5hempgntyklqwrsrm7p78lgjw6kx7fhymhms622w5x
Lots of security reports claim the contrary.
Several articles detail just what they are using, hereās the first search result: https://gizmodo.com/elon-musks-doge-running-highly-sensitive-government-data-through-ai-report-2000560381
The incompetence is likely far worse than either of us could even imagine.
And I appreciate this. The āmove fast and break thingsā approach is a fiat mindset, enabled by AI.
Iām not saying the scope of the SSI corruption isnāt this big or canāt happenā¦
But maaaaybe whomever collected the data and/or built the spreadsheet is just an idiot? I mean, this is the government weāre talking about.
And theyāre using AI to find/collect this data, which is naive at best in its discernment.
And then the DOGE + Musk has an incentive to keep the headlines coming.
Musk has never proven to be a source worthy of trust. Why start now? nostr:note13d8wdatscczqjrlqcrf6a6pkhzns0zd6nldcqmgtqun3sv54mdcq4vrnjk
