Folks over on X are having a difficult time understanding why I’m focusing my efforts on #nostr.

Here’s why:

Just been listening to a podcast on Fountain and it struck me...I never hear a British voice on there.

Who does a decent podcast on Fountain, in English, in a proper accent?

My husband has only recently become open to the idea of bitcoin. Before now, it had been the cause of more than a few conflicts in our home during the bear market.

I knew he would come around eventually, the challenge was limiting the conflict in the house until he did.

At the end, I knew it would be NGU that got him on board.

Now I have to help and guide him to see that Bitcoin changes everything.

It's closed source, buggy, constantly crashing and relies on a custodial bank to do v4v.

AntennaPod is superior in every way. It does not have v4v, it's just a minimal podcast app, but you can always zap/donate to podcasters directly without Fountian taking a middleman fee.

Don't use Fountain but this is the way. I've long refused to have my nsec anywhere else but in Amber.

Interesting side-note, I just went through a whole ordeal to buy this cup of cold brew. The new coffee shop near my train station doesn’t give out disposable cups, and they charge a 25¢ deposit for a returnable cup, which they only give you if you provide them an email address or phone number. Is there a big European presence on Nostr yet? Curious if people are discovering it as a censorship-free alternative given the crackdowns and threats.

Would love to read some commentary from accounts on here if they exist.
