I think what you say is very true! I agree with you, surely in a different and better system we tend not to be so selfish anymore, but I also think that if we give ourselves the chance to be, we will be! Obviously this does not apply to everyone, some are by nature extremely altruistic, others are not.

Human beings are selfish by nature.

Bitcoin doesn’t try to change this, but instead leverages it. The protocol is structured so that each participant, by pursuing their own interest, ends up strengthening the entire system.

That’s the genius of Bitcoin: it turns selfishness into emergent altruism. Here, you don’t need to ā€œtrustā€ in the goodness of others; you just need to know that the system rewards correct behavior. This creates a balance where everyone has an incentive to play fair.

Honesty isn’t required—it’s incentivized. And it works.

Hi, thank you ā˜ŗļø!! I'm very happy to hear it too, we are not alone and we will surely be more and more!! and one thing I really like is how I often feel in a big extended family, each with their own experiences and thoughts, but all united in the same direction ā¤ļø

This is certainly a correct and logical thought, but I also think it is not exactly the same thing. Gold comes from an "ancient" era, I like many others was born in a fiat era and I know it, yes, I know them too and appreciate it as a store of value, but as you rightly noted I do not use it as such. Bitcoin does not do the same thing as gold, gold does not try to overturn the entire financial system, Bitcoin does, I am not interested in living a life in a system that I do not like, that I do not approve of in order to accumulate gold and retire "rich"! But I prefer to live a "poor" life by having and using Bitcoin and trying to change something. Maybe it will not change anything, maybe it will, but in any case this thought makes me act in a direction, which gold does not do... so I do not know, maybe you are right, but maybe not entirely.

The first time I discovered Bitcoin, it was love at first sight. I sensed something special, something I couldn’t fully understand at the time…

Then you talk to other people, you stop listening to yourself, you get confused, you get distracted, and maybe you even start to think there’s something wrong with you… So you drift away.

But that spark stays with you, even if you don’t completely get it. It never really goes away. Every now and then it comes back, you feel it again, it never truly disappears.

Then, one day, almost like magic, something switches back on: maybe it’s a phrase, a single word—whatever it is, it reignites that spark like the very first time, and suddenly you see it in all its glory.

For me, that moment was realizing the revolution it brings. Seeing it as a political tool, not just a financial one. Seeing it in all its complexity. And every day, I realize I still have so much more to learn, and that’s amazing.

Another thing I’ve learned?

When you feel that spark, listen to your instinct. Forget what others think. Go deep, research, listen to everyone, but don’t trust—verify everything.

Making mistakes by following your instinct builds experience.

Making mistakes because you listen to others builds regret.

I was watching a crime series: they arrest a guy buying sensitive information.

The cops ask him, ā€œHow would you have paid the hacker? Bank transfer? App?ā€

He answers, ā€œNo.ā€

And I immediately thought, ā€œHere we go, now they’ll start the usual speech about cryptocurrencies used by criminals.ā€

But no!

The answer was: ā€œNo, he just wanted cash. Electronic payments are traceable.ā€

Interesting, right?
