Bitcoiner. Engineer. Christian. Theologian Writer. Husband. Father. Trapped on Prison Island UK. #Bitcoin #Christian #Family

WTAF? I wanted to zap a note not open a bank account. Feels dirty to even consider KYC in this context 🤮

It's just that, at some point soon, we plebs will need a security entourage to get around. I used to get excited about front running nation states but now it makes me nervous. Since the state is the apex crime organisation and yet to be truly limited and reformed by bitcoin.

Also, the stakeholder adjacent to the state are the oligarchs. Billionaires got to where they are through networks and a fair bit of crime. No way the oligarchy step aside to make way for the citadel bois without a serious gunfight.

Definitely need to not be living in third world UK just waking up too late to the necessity of Bitcoin Reserve. Black mirror society, starts probing citizens for what it can confiscate. The state's equivalent of the $5 wrench probably involves taking houses, business and other assets in lieu... or worse kidnapping family and demanding sats ransom... or even long term prison but gulag style, to break you or make example of you to others. Didn't take much for last US regime to create chill effect on bitcoiners, how much more a desperate state at the tail end of the scramble.

Some coins will end up as donations to the network, as brave bitcoiners show their true resolve against leviathan gone rogue. But life is cheap to a government clinging to power, and eventually they'll collect enough through their reign of terror.

Just thinking out loud.

One day I hope to use bitcoin to acquire a stake in a business that earns and operates in bitcoin, so I can generate a bitcoin return on my bitcoin investment without touching fiat.

The power of Bitcoin is underestimated, although in order to control it you must take certain things into account.

Right now the government can seize you:

- Your homes

- Your land

- Your cars

- Your stocks/investments

- Your business

As a general rule the government can seize anything where it issues a title deed which is nothing more than a right-to-use title.

As you can see there is no private property for these assets.

And this is where Bitcoin comes in, Bitcoin is authentic private property, surpassing the level of gold, jewelry, precious stones or works of art. Because it surpasses them? because it is easier to defend, remember that private property exists as long as there is the real possibility of defending it, that is, the level of private property of a given good is directly proportional to the ability to defend it by the owner against attacks from third parties.

A house is impossible to defend against the state, you need an army to prevent its seizure. A jewel, gold and a work of art is easier to defend, you just need to hide it well. Bitcoin is tremendously easy to defend, in the extreme case, it is hidden in your mind.

However, the state can use confiscable assets such as houses, land, vehicles, businesses, etc. to coerce you into handing over your Bitcoins. Keep this in mind when planning your life in the face of a possible government attack.

In other words, shy away from government-issued assets, they take away your freedom and make you dependent and detract from the power of Bitcoin.

I keep having this difficult conversation at home.

My wife trusts my judgement but prefers to hold 'tangible' assets like real estate.

I keep reminding her that our claim to that real estate depends entirely on a 'register' kept by the people most likely to seize it... or worse to g rind us out of it and then claim forfeiture.

To assert our right without force, we depend entirely on rule of law persisting and that law being fairly written and fairly judged by independent judiciary and fairly enforced by a police force or military that acts without fear or favour.

That's a lot of ifs right there.

First reaction to your note was imagining the ocean receding silently ahead of a tsunami.

Supercycle 2025.

No zaps.

But to be fair, the npub has been around from the start, while it was still ghost town around here.

What's the beef?

British submarine doing a 'surprise' surface close to the Russian ship, to show that Britain has been "covertly monitoring its every move" - that's a nice flex.

But yeah, otherwise sounds like playground kid saying "I saw you doing the bad stuff and I'm going to write it down"... rather than "touch me again and I'm breaking both arms".

That non-nuclear missile capable of obliterating cities probably changed the balance of power a bit.

Assuming it's not a supercycle.

Everything changes with a supercycle.
