Sure, but the masses have been conditioned to believe that the state is the ultimate authority, so it's most likely to turn out that way.

They can "guarantee" the IOUs, just like they did on the previous gold backed notes.

I used to have free proton mail, but I now pay for it because I want my private email to stick around and I don't want them motivated to sell my info to stay in business. Of course I also get some extra features with the paid version.

GM, What is your preferred zap size and why?

I’ll start:

1,000 sats is my default because it’s enough to actually mean something for the receiver, like dropping a quarter into every decent street musician’s cup if I was able to traverse like 100 streets in a day. It’s also just enough for me to be a little selective about what I zap. Lastly it still doesn’t wipe me out when I zap a lot.

My “Damn this is solid” zap is usually 2,100 sats

And my “Perfect 5/7” zap is 10,000 sats 🤣

My preferred zap size? I don’t discriminate. People can zap me as much as they want 😂

When I send them, I typically use 21 for zapathon and similar situations, and then 100, 210, 2100, and 5000 depending on the quality of the post I’m zapping.
