working on Alby - enabling consumers and developers to interact with the Bitcoin Lightning Network - the protocol of money – everywhere: in apps and the real world ⚡moritz@getalby.com

Oh no. That should not be the case. Can you send us your account details and a description of the behavior? Ideally directly to support@getalby.com .

You can connect your own node with the Alby Browser Extension. Happy to help.

Here to help with any question regarding Alby.

I use Alby Firefox extension (https://getalby.com).

Whenever I restart my computer, or even just Firefox, and the Alby password prompt appears, I enter my Alby password, press Enter, then a second or two later, another Alby password prompt appears. I enter my password again.

Afterwards it feels like I'm being tricked somehow.

Has anyone else seen this behavior with Alby+Firefox?

The first password is like your PIN to lock/unlock the browser extension and protect it from unauthorized access.

The second password is to access your Alby Account. You only have to enter it once when you connect it to the Alby extension.

It sometimes takes a bit longer until clients update the cache with the new lightning address.

I think the use case for nostr:npub1mutnyacc9uc4t5mmxvpprwsauj5p2qxq95v4a9j0jxl8wnkfvuyque23vg for me will be desktop Lightning. It occured to me I've never had a good desktop LN option to date. Restored my seed I had created on mobile in a desktop browser no issue. I guess if I can get in app zaps working automatically that will be a bonus but also just be able to easily send and received LN will probably work well from desktop too. Alby never worked for me as I was trying to pair it with my LN node and it always seemed to lose connection with the backend.

Oh no. That must not be the case. Do you want to send me the error message that you get when you connect your node to the Alby extension? moritz@getalby.com

You would need to set up a lightning address for your lnd node or regularly send the money from Alby to your node. If you connect both, your lnd node and your Alby Account to the Alby browser extension, you could swap funds directly in the browser extension.

Data Vending Machine market is heating up 🔥

Here's a demo of what's coming up to nostr:npub1w0rthyjyp2f5gful0gm2500pwyxfrx93a85289xdz0sd6hyef33sh2cu4x

When you enter a video or audio it asks AIs to compete to translate it for you

This is NOT hitting a Highlighter backend. There is no backend.

This is just nostr. Meaning, ANY application can benefit, both as a customer and as a data vending machine.

Let me repeat that:

today ANY nostr application can now do audio/video transcriptions, translations, and more tapping into a free market of competing providers.

Free markets ftw.

If you use the Alby Browser Extension you can connect different accounts (Alby is just one) . In each of these accounts you can store a Nostr private key and use Nostr apps on the web.

There is the Alby Browser Extension. It is open source and allows to connect different wallets and store Nostr key in order to access different Nostr apps on the web.

And there is the Alby Account that can be connected to the Alby Browser Extension and to many other Nostr mobile apps. So in that way you don't need to leave the app anymore to zap.

Happy to help with any question.
