working on Alby - enabling consumers and developers to interact with the Bitcoin Lightning Network - the protocol of money – everywhere: in apps and the real world ⚡moritz@getalby.com

For now it is not possible unfortunately. For example Strike cannot send boosts or boostagrams to podcasters for value 4 value payments.

So the easiest way is to deposit sats from Strike into your Alby Hub.

There is no ending of Alby.

You can keep using your Alby account and the Alby Extension.

We encourage you to take control over your bitcoin and start your own Alby Hub (getalby.com). Some users still have an internal shared wallet, which is phased out.

Happy to help anytime. There are also personal onboarding sessions for #albyhub which are quite fun: https://cal.com/getalby/alby-hub-onboarding

Calculating lightning fees upfront is tricky. People exploited 0% reserves. That's why had to introduce it too, like many other wallets.

Let us know how much is stuck in your wallet and we'll reimburse the rest.

Danie, let us know if we can help with anything.

We also offer personal onboardings just in case: https://cal.com/getalby/alby-hub-onboarding

Did you change something your side? I just sent 2 zaps from Alby's and my wallet.

When the bitcoin prices rises, we can adjust the prices when denominated in bitcoin. That's the cool thing when it comes to a deflationary currency like bitcoin.

Have you looked into these options to run a Hub? https://guides.getalby.com/user-guide/alby-account-and-browser-extension/alby-hub/alby-hub-flavors

or you find someone who creates a subaccount for you on their own Hub.

thanks Moritz, it's just that the timing was less than ideal

coming out with the killer product (easy shared, hosted wallet with api) first, _then_ a more customer-work-involved product (alby hub) is kind of telling a story in reverse

admittedly, it was probably not your initial plan

Right Alby Hub is still early. All the APIs remain working.

For businesses it is a blessing because they have more control. For the individual consumer we can still improve a few things.
