It's hard not to agree with this. The only hope really is that Bitcoin is so close to just being math that we couldn't destroy it. But I don't believe that to be the case. Hopefully it will take a long time.
Here's how it will work.
At first it will be used by service providers. For example the way the Aqua wallet uses it. But as time goes on it will continue to be developed and continue to get more and more usable for ordinary folks who don't have time to manage all the channels and liquidity. That will become automatic and simple. And service providers will emerge that also make it simple to use at the cost of some of the privacy.
