While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease. I hold fast to what I believe, til I see my name in stone. #faith #chickens #gardens #gsd #selfemployment maxi

A free standing wood stove doesn’t require a whole lot. However, In-wall fireplaces have a lot of trouble warming more than the masonry and their immediate surroundings. Usually it relies on some sort of convection chamber in the masonry itself, that’s all well and good but they rarely feed right. Some have a blower on them, but a blower is usually 220v and power hungry.

The already warm exhaust from a miner could be piped through the fireplace apparatus continuously, and could sink into the masonry. May actually negate the need for a wood fire on some days. When the fireplace was running, it’s not like blowing air that was already warm through it would be a bad thing.

So maybe talk a bit about things like that. You and I have talked about various uses for the heat because that’s the first unintended resource from mining, but I haven’t heard anybody expound on the fact that you’re continuously moving a lot of air. I’m sure there’s things to use moving air for regardless of its temp.

I’m in this picture.. but I’m not sure which one is me. 😆

Probable!

I also question the people that spend endless time in the gym. So many of them have a story that starts with “how I overcame bulimia by working out for 120 hours a week.” Whenever someone becomes monodimensional by sinking all their time, money or thoughts into a single narrow purpose, insanity will sneak in.

I’m a different crazy. I’m a bit of an autodidact, which can appear to be adhd but I assure you .. oh look a squirrel.

When I haven’t seen people for months, I know they will be talking about whatever major league sport is in season (for which they have no actual vested interest) and then they will say “how’s your farm” and I will reply “it’s going well, wanna see the gaming computer I’m building” it’s unnerving to them. The farm is still going well, but I have broadened myself, my mind, and my body. They still just want to talk about sportsball.

If only Californians washed their hands.. all the vegetable recalls and raw honey problems come from there. Place is a cesspool.

Even more than Lucky Charms? His girlfriend. 😜

I like edits or at least the theory behind them. I make typos. I want to fix the typos. However, nostr:nprofile1qqsrhuxx8l9ex335q7he0f09aej04zpazpl0ne2cgukyawd24mayt8gprfmhxue69uhhq7tjv9kkjepwve5kzar2v9nzucm0d5hszxmhwden5te0wfjkccte9emk2um5v4exucn5vvhxxmmd9uq3xamnwvaz7tmhda6zuat50phjummwv5hsx7c9z9 has convinced me that they're bad. His editing and the gamification of his edits are fun, but if hundreds of people in my feeds are doing this, then it would immediately degrade my experience. I would hate it. It would be annoying.

I now see edits as an attack vector and a performance degrader.

Maybe we need a maximum number of edits? 3? I don't know. I'm just thinking out loud.

Maybe we just do away with them altogether? 👀

Thoughts?

There are several personalities on X or other legacy platforms that make tons of posts at the beginning of baseball season

“Yankees will win it in 7”

“Yankees will win it in 6”

“Yankees will win it in 5”

And so on, for every single team. Then, they just delete all the posts for every prediction that doesn’t come true. It’s a dirty game, this internet.

I’m sorry, I understood and stopped reading after “what it feels”

What you’re doing does eventually work. This just gets you back in the saddle almost immediately. I have an old food processor, and I dump some hot water over the leaves to wilt them a bit and grind it up. I expected it to be more solid and stay put. It’s more like pudding than other poultices I’ve used, and that’s ok. I put it in a sandwich bag or some Saran Wrap, and just wrap my foot up in it and watch a movie.

Depending on which sprain you have, make sure it gets right on the ligament that needs it as well as the soft tissue that’s most affected. If that makes sense, the sprain is in the ligament that ties bone to muscle, so the entire length of that affected muscle can benefit from packing as well.

Do you ever poultice with it? I leave it on there until I feel “the worms.” If you’re no stranger to sprains, you probably know what I’m talking about. About a week and a half after I sprain, I usually feel a crawling sensation under my skin that marks the beginning of improvement. With comfrey poultice, that feeling starts the day of the sprain.

A cemetary, because there’s nothing certain except death and taxes.
