There are a number of grantees using temporary grants to launch their own businesses. Which is, ideally, what it should be used for. nostr:npub1s3ht77dq4zqnya8vjun5jp3p44pr794ru36d0ltxu65chljw8xjqd975wz is paying everything out of pocket and that can be painful, especially if you are not part of a larger team that can share costs.

But the problem now arises through the sheer number of grants creating expectations that everyone has one, although not everyone does. It's destroying appreciation for the value of labor, which will make it increasingly difficult for grantees to wean themselves off the money, as potential customers will be upset that their free stuff is no longer free.

I agree with you on that one. On the other hand, this is the free market we desire and there are plenty of opportunities to build profitible businesses out there. Most of them will fail, some of them will succeed and will be copycated.

Self-employed here and no full salary πŸ‘€ I need the friction of bootstrapping to maintain creativity and avoid the situation where I can say too much yes.

Have a good trip guys! πŸ˜…πŸ˜„ See you tomorrow! #Nostriga

I was at a dinner a couple nights ago with brian.behlendorf.com & Kevin Kelly who both helped start Wired Magazine, and a bunch of other interesting folks.

Brian made this point that when it comes to complex software systems worse is better. Referring to the essay on the subject from the early 90’s: https://dreamsongs.com/WorseIsBetter.html

The idea is that simpler systems that are easier to evolve tend to win over top down strongly architectured systems that tend to be inflexible.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Worse_is_better

Nostr has the characteristics of the β€œworse” technologies that often win. HTML is worse than XML and Hypertext. JavaScript is worse than Java. TCP/IP is worse than OSI! We don’t remember that TCP/IP was the scrappy underdog protocol that the government tried to kill because they wanted their properly designed OSI protocols for the internet! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Protocol_Wars

Twitter itself was worse, it’s a kind of minimalist thing which was powerfully extensible. The original Twitter api docs were a single page long. The original oauth spec was 6 pages long.

Worse is a better way to build technology to change the world.

In the context of worse is better 🧐

I need to deliver a static billboard Nostr ad to be displayed at this billboard:

Found out that nostr:npub1spralxq6jlw5rdy0249vqr5sh43rfrlx2wzv3rhjjqedw559w9psrs8s72 already worked out some nice Nostr advertorials, so that inspired me to work out some different versions.

nostr:nevent1qvzqqqqqqypzpqz8m7vp497agx6g7422cq8fp0tzxj87v5uyez809ypj6afg2u2rqy08wumn8ghj7mn0wd68yttsw43zuam9d3kx7unyv4ezumn9wshsz9mhwden5te0wfjkccte9ec8y6tdv9kzumn9wshsqgx7g8k39ntp3dh5k4lcp83sj6jrawnuqy75l0s5vtdpr0gha2r6yqm5gemh

I also looked up a Nostr poll client and found Pollerama developed by nostr:npub1cgd35mxmy37vhkfcmjckk9dylguz6q8l67cj6h9m45tj5rx569cql9kfex

So you can vote with your npub which version you like the most: https://pollerama.fun/respond/46c62dcf695fc5975ebe59b3f400fc6240092bdaa79c7a7cd296cff2bb04aed1

WOW, I haven't asked for this feature (yet)! But that's exactly what I was missing after I submitted the options to the poll. πŸ‘

# *Week 12-08 a suitable protocol*

The knots come to a head, some of you have gray hair, you get older.

Tkinter is better than ws://, more secure, but has limitations,

unless you know how to use figma and do some magic. The project of Nabismo.

Maybe Nostr doesn't work for me.

**Aspirin moment**

Nip-17, works with nip-44 and nip-59.

Someone said they made the groups encrypted with nip-17.

I tried and succeeded, now you can DM me, don't do it.

I had sent the link to a conversation of nip-87 closed groups.

There's JeffG doing something with MLS.

Then there's keychat.io which uses signal Nostr Bitcoin ecash and that's it... But in dart.

It's a bit like the Matrix analogue for Nostr.

Final controversy not all nips are mandatory.

**Build the foundation. You can't think about selling the house**

Yakihonne has a countdown.

What can a desktop app be.

Community Lists, Nip-29

A birthday on Nostr, no that's not possible, they're all cypherpunks. πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰ (Except me)

There is a different attitude from **Nostr** when updates are released compared to **Bluesky**,

everyone there is still enthusiastic, on **Nostr** ah ok but this is missing oh but this is missing or but support this other one,

or but * zap*, wait a minute, keep calm πŸ™‡β€β™‚οΈ, I'm the first to do this. (*The revolt of the developers)

Deletetion: Client that have relay paired can do delete, more intelligently,

Perhaps you can think of a delete.nrelay subdomain as a filter.

This id is deleted.

Be careful what you don't want to do.

Maybe a session with a psychologist is better, because then you find yourself doing what you said you didn't want to do.

Does it make sense to follow someone on **Bluesky**?

In my opinion no, or better yet yes.

There are several algorithms on** Bluesky**, which do their job well.

In the end it's just a matter of arranging them better on the screen.

Yes you can have lists to save someone, but then you read everything, so lists with algorithm seems like a next feature.

this way they can keep the following small, almost minimal, because there are algorithms that work for the user.

People will start writing for SEO algorithm and AI and other things, which tech gurus really like and so on.

The fact that it is almost exclusively an app will greatly facilitate this trend, there will be almost no need for moderation,

and you can get it all in just a few apps. (Great)

Oh yegorpetrov has abandoned.

Pegorpetrov said that he is coming back 😌

It might be an invention but I'm a little heartened by it.

**Bankify**, a new wallet of super testnet, only for crush testers.

You can't stream on *zap stream* without reach, maybe it's better audio space.

Contact someone maybe an influencer or Nostr elite or whatever.

Open Source Justice Foundation streaming

*Designer*, I wanted to propose comment on wikifreedia nielliesmons article and follow #nostrdesign, but too many answers for today. NVK note is ~~mainstream~~

I think I'm not suited to Nostr.

Nostr-ava bike file geo tag sharing. (NIP-113)

Sebastix doesn't respond, I must have done something bad to him, or maybe I'm stressing him too much. Finally he replied πŸ€™.

In the end maybe, I have too much hype about this proposal and it's something I don't know maybe,

but maybe if they were already doing something with geo tags it's better to say so.

Another birthday, less cypher more punk 😌

Usdt on Nostr, there must be some error. (freeform app)

USDT on tron is like Money. (Bitcoiner not really)

Privacy issue, deletion motion, or deletion request, go go.

Nip29 hype, i don't have hype at all.

I'm tired of words, I record a podcast on Nostr. Let's see if I can do it, at least think it.

(It's more of a workflow thing than actually something I would do)

1. Create an npub (easy)

2. Record the audio episode (I think I can do it). Terrible audio

3. Loading on a Nostrhosting, if less than 10 MB it should go smoothly.

4. Publish the video or audio of the episode on some Nostr client, perhaps using blastr relay 😞.

5. Do the nostree link, by putting the episode, and also the npub.pro and put the URL on cafΓ©-society.

6) Publish all these links on the Main profile, saying that, made a podcast about Nostr in Nostr of nostr. πŸ˜‚

I thought a client could have poll, form, spreadsheet, collaboration document.

It's the kind of otherstuff we want to see.

Something that goes beyond a normal feed.

Emoj on bluesky, Eventually also zap πŸ₯œ

[link emoj Blue](https://bsky.app/profile/did:plc:kkf4naxqmweop7dv4l2iqqf5/post/3kzskvd75q226)

Eventually there will be a developer revolt

And they will only do a social network in their downtime, they will call it **Nostr**.

There is a storm, **Nostr** does not work in 4g with two bars.

Or now 4G is gone too.

Yakihonne Smart widgets, something to try on the weekend.

You did nothing bad! 🀣😘

Building an activity based Nostr client for cyclists is something on my longlist πŸ‘€

This is such an interesting and intigruing way how software in a ecosystem evolves. It really fits my way of working as well (go with the flow, embrace friction and uncertainties). I love pragmatic and structured approaches but within an ecosystem where there is plenty of room for chaos and flexibility. This creates a space where I just can do my own thing (whatever that may be). I agree that more strictness kills creativity (and even humanity).

Would be awesome to have some chats on this topic with you at Nostriga!
