This! What a great way to build relationships and also help with podcast discovery.
If you’re not worried about how things look, consider the blanket fort. It won’t fix environmental sounds like a jackhammer on the street corner or forgetting to turn off the loud air conditioning in a hotel room.
But…
If you can control the environmental sound, the blanket fort can keep your voice from bouncing around the room like a racquet ball. It’s worked for radio reporters for years and it just might work for you.
Acoustic treatment is often more important than choosing the “right” mic as a #podcaster, but it can be expensive. The good news is that it doesn’t HAVE TO be expensive.
Thanks for sharing!
Remember that mastering the fundamentals will always overcome short-sighted tactical tweaks in the long run.
Have you heard one of these podcaster fairy tales?
1. Fix it in post
2. Guests have great mics
3. You don’t need a sound check
Or…
Guests will grow your audience.
Publishing on Tuesday to grow.
Just hire an iTunes podcast promoter.
The truth… it’s hard. Focus on the fundamentals.
One thing about having very few connections - it’s much easier to keep up with everyone.
I see this all the time - podcasters focusing on the slight edge and forgetting about the fundamentals.
Here’s the hard truth - publishing Tuesday (or any other day) instead of the weekend won’t help grow your audience if the content isn’t great or you are inconsistent with publishing.
I know this first-hand. Believe me.
Focus on getting the content right and serving your audience before you obsess over things like publishing days. https://nostrcheck.me/media/0834bbe3dd9bb3083062515681bfaaab96f837022ad1e12128c38163deb0c59b/5c1c6bbd09402f25e03f65cde5ed3272dbd69adf7fceaf56a164b77e8e269c80.webp
nostr:npub1t3gxvxcf9nrcdd2ukhtfzjd39x7uers96u3ce3jnm605vhkkn7gsfp9elk I checked out Highlighter. Looks like a Nostr-based version of something like Patreon. Did I get that right?
As a small business owner (freelance podcast editor), scope creep can very quickly turn profit into loss. This episode of Podcast Editors Mastermind features Heather Zeitawolfe sharing her insights and strategies for turning potential scope creep into additional revenue while limiting added effort.

Congrats on publishing!
According to the US State Department, it looks like there’s an option for visa free entry for up to 90 days.
After switching to #IPFS ... my server logs for Aug2's show reports 816 downloads of the Podnews Daily audio; a week ago, I got 1750 downloads for that day's show. OP3 reports no change in actual plays. So, IPFS doing a great job of significantly cutting down my site traffic, as I hoped it would do. Will look more closely into the stats and see what else is going on in a few weeks time. Go podcasting! /cc nostr:npub1g6plln20m4g7e42zedtrsxf08sc9mw2n23c6d2p02rf6302z4xkqyudgtx
That’s great!
The beauty of no algorithm is that there’s nothing manipulating your timeline. The challenge of no algorithm is that new users have to actively find friends and people to follow or it starts to feel like a single fax machine with nobody on the other end.
It takes time and not everyone is willing to put in the effort up front to have a great experience.
Oh look, another round up of twitter alternatives that leaves out nostr 🤦

I took it as an opportunity to reply to a couple of tweets sharing the list with a name drop for Nostr :-)
It was fun to sit in the guest interviewer's chair for this #podcast episode. We talked about (among other things) the often painful way we learn leadership lessons.

Agreed. It's almost like it's now become a virtual requirement for every part of the election process to look more like a witch hunt so that we can have our required daily amount of recreational outrage and then go vote, if only to be able to vote AGAINST something rather than FOR a candidate we'd actually like to see elected.
Fun. My son is gaming, my daughter is watching a show, and I'm listening to a book. It's good to have time to rest.
I never started, so I guess I can't stop. But I know that I've received more than one super scammy outreach to use it.
