If you report a note as spam Amethyst makes it disappear and it instead says it was "flagged as inappropriate". The trouble is the UI has no option to view the unhide the post after you've done that which is often desired for reasons like an investigation.

If you're in Austin and want one of these for a powerful node DM me.

Idea to enhance the paid server user experience:

Currently users don't have a good way to know what the policies are for a particular relay. There are plenty of good reasons for relay operators to send announcements to clients or to provide notice about what services are available and to ask for payment.

The relay operator could try to send them a private message like this screenshot. Amethyst could help by automatically allowing npubs associated with a relay to bypass New Requests of the messages tab so server messages are more visible.

Further the UI could make server messages even more prominent. New users have the most difficult time due to problems with relays, thus this might even be important enough to be a pop-up.

#[0] The search box lets you enter newlines. Perhaps that isn't intended?

Oops ... I meant when ten people I am following repost the same thing I see it ten times in my feed. That hurts readability a lot.

#[0] When ten of my followers repost the same note I see the same thing ten times in a row. Some deduplicated would help the user experience.

I agree deletion doesn't work. In this case subscribers to a community have opted in to a filter where moderators of that community mark particular posts as spam or off-topic. It's to maximize signal within that group. Nostr users naturally could turn off the filter to see if the group is unduly censoring things if they want to. Freedom goes both ways. If you don't like one moderated community go start one of your own.

It's a good thing we prioritized arbitrary data storage onchain by giving it a deeper fee discount than those pesky LN transactions. Dodged a bullet there!

v12.1 is working great here!

One question. Viewing notes of a particular person is difficult because half of the screen is dominated by their profile while the other half scrolls. Could that view change so the profile scrolls off the top?

Also how can we donate to you?

Please allow for that to work with signature delegation so personal proxies would continue to work without having our private key?

You see Nostr messages and follows only if you happen to connect to the same relay servers as other users. So it connects to many relays redundantly in an attempt to find them all. In my case half of my followers and replies on my threads appear and disappear due to some popular public relays being overloaded.

Anyone familiar with Android VPN apps?

I want Amethyst to use one VPN while the rest of my phone uses a different VPN or none at all. Is this possible?

Reason: You're giving relay operators and anyone who spies on their traffic a lot of information about your location.

I found a non-default relay that causes Amethyst to crash during startup. I was able to start the app again by going offline then deleting that relay. Later one of the other relays added by Iris is again crashing Amethyst.

I saw the github issue where relays with a leading space were crashing Amethyst. None of my relays have a space. Something else is going on.

I seem to have broke my following and follower list. It seems there can be a race condition if you use two clients simultaneously?

Desktop: iris -> torbrowser

Android: Amethyst

Followed 10 people on desktop. A few people began to follow me. I tried to browse on the phone. Both clients became 0 following and 0 followers. This happened twice now. For now I stopped using the phone app.
