> can anyone point me in a right direction on how to get the correct drivers installed in Fedora?

I'm guessing that WiFi chips require nonfree firmware to work. Also that Fedora makes installing proprietary software hard, to protect people from doing it inadvertently. When I hit this problem with Trisquel, I change distros (usually to LMDE).

Is there another Fedora family distro you could use, that's more nonchalant about shipping any nonfree components needed to make hardware work?

Eg contemporary avante-garde styles that are intentionally non-symmetrical could be one way to proudly rock your body shape. IMHO these are not flattering on most people, but the right cut could look great on a naturally non-symmetrical body.

If you're wanting to blend in, you could look for clothing for plus size bodies that lack a waist. These tend to draw attention to the shoulders and upper torso. So unless you're going for a femme look, you'll probably want something designed for plus size men.

Think 90s men's styles, baggy trousers and layers of untucked shirts. Or designs inspired by non-European clothing, like middle eastern style robes, or the wound fabric clothing of the Indian subcontinent.

> my hips are out of alignment, so traditional mens clothing just doesn't work well. I've tried a dress once or twice but I don't like the look of them on me

That's a challenging one. Most fashion, for either sex, is designed around cinching at the waist, which pulls the eye to the symmetry of the hips (or lack thereof).

Possible options depend on whether you're looking to own your unique body shape and put it on display, or to obscure it.

> one app that supports both Akkoma and Mastodon

AFAIK the Pleroma family ( including Akkoma), like a bunch of other fediverse server software (eg the MissKey family, including FireFish), support the Mastodon API for connecting apps to servers. So any app that works on Mastodon will work on them.

There's a table of apps here, complete with with what OS they run on, and what server software they support:

> Are you aware of any instances looking for payed moderators

I don't have any details right now, but I'm sure I remember reading about a worker-owned gig platform, offering moderation as a third-party service. Maybe in an article by nostr:npub1lh08a23nkqpnjjm3ve7z3u5u427vdztg8yc42jyf75p49pwk4lxqrkupks?

If this doesn't exist, it probably needs to. Once Bridge Seat Co-op is up and running with our fediverse hosting co-op, I'll be interested to see if there is demand among our customers for moderation services.

Indeed. Some great ideas in there. nostr:npub1lj756j70nykyqjtz5hfs43gkzyvzjpq36lt9u2qxxrp9jtqws5mqkdzczx have you posted your hashtag grouping ideas to the Fediverse Ideas repo?

I appreciated people like Nick Hanauer who break this pattern:

I wish I had more time to listen to the podcast where he interviews heterodox economists about why the wealthy need to pay more tax, minimum wages need to be higher, etc:

"...Court ruled an... AI... can be named as an inventor."

WTSF?!?

For a start, claiming a MOLE (Machine Operated Learning Emulator) invented something is like claiming a web browser posted something on a forum. In both cases, the creator was the human who gave the software its instructions. Not the software agent itself.

#Listening to the 1995 Clawfinger album Use Your Brain.

"So why complain, I feel no shame, I've used my skills

And the next generation has to pay the bills"

It's been years since I heard this band. They're so unapologetically political even I feel lectured, and the odd song is just cringe and hasn't dated well. But their hearts are definitely in the right place, and they lay down some phat riffage, if that's what you're into (which I am).

As nostr:npub14v209s7r6n6p6vqs3nn6hqkzm9wmyzhdtcy4z77v9d8un8n6yw4snu4xfk said, it's not alone. The NZ and Oz govts (also 5 Eyes) are also proposing backdoors on all encryption for law enforcement. We've got an important job to do, convincing all govts that this is both a monumentally stupid idea and a boon to Bad Actors online (more ransom attacks, yay!), but also profoundly anti-democratic and a violation of universal human rights.

The UK government continues to want more interception capability on messaging: https://www.bbc.com/news/technology-66304002

It makes me wonder who is managing to lobby the government so successfully that this is a good idea.

I don't understand the international politics involved, but at the Five Eyes level it's not clear to me why being an outlier would be good.

Maybe it's less spook-y orgs pushing, but then I wonder why the case isn't being made more publicly.

It just makes the UK look weirdly authoritarian.
